Don't really know about what's the norm with peta, but I can see why they'd choose bettabuns,all the interest cause of George, it's the next best thing to getting George to pose. Just look at all the attention it's gotten in a few days time!

I saw the ENews thing....she was live in the studio...trying to be very light, and laughed....alot. It was very interesting....Guilliana kept pushing for GEorge info, and Eli never really took the bait....never said that they had a great (or good) relationship - actually never said they had a relationship. She said she was happy to be able to come to the US (as if you need a boyfriend to get into the US...)they showed the PETA thing. Eli stopped early on to "clear the air" and say that, there's all this talk going around, but no, she is not giving him a big party...at one point, Guillaina got all excited, saying "is he here? Is George here?!". Guilliana then gave Eli, what looked like a bunch of chocolate bars (?), and in return, Eli said she had a surprise for her (this is when she got all excited), but then Eli handed her a bottle to give to Bill, Guilliana's husband...cuz she thinks he's so cute....it was all a little strange...

It just seems weird to go to Mr Chows to celebrate when he says he wants things low key then another small party the next day. When was the last time George was at Mr Chows? Hopefully we will get some pics there are always paps hanging out there! Timing is great though we don't see either for weeks then suddenly Eli is popping up everywhere.

Whatever the situation, I really don't think it has anything to do with IMDb. He went to a very high profile restaurant, frequented by celebrities, and photographers hanging out outside. If he was trying to stay low key, he would've picked a low key restaurant. But yet, it *seemed* as though he got out of there without being photographed. For some reason, he's really putting an effort into not being photographed with her. But I really don't think it has anything to do with the IMDb'ers.

The actor – who turns 50 on Friday – had a early celebration and dinner at the Beverly Hills hotspot with girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis … and a ton of other celebrities.

Current Dancing with the Stars contestant Kirstie Alley and author Jackie Collins both caught Clooney in action – and live Tweeted his birthday dinner. Wrote Alley: "Jeez... I'm having dinner and I swear this is the most star studded restaurant I've ever been in!!... Impressive!!!"

Collins was equally impressed with her famous fellow diners. "Fun dinner at CHOWS. with Kathy Griffin. Spotted George Clooney & beautiful gf Elizabetta. Also Kirsti Alley looking major svelte," she posted.

"Kirsti was with Kelly Preston, & wandering around were Ray Romano & Brad Garret. Quite a star studded night."

Replied Alley: "u a bad ass Jackie... Great seeing u tonight.. Were we surrounded by beautiful men or what?? Mr. Chows it is every nite xxo."

And Alley didn't leave the restaurant empty-handed. "Happy birthday George Clooney," she later Tweeted. "Great to see u.. Better to hug u."

IMO, it's a posters determined belief that their relationship was all contract, nothing more. Saint George, of course was tricked, forced, into this contract by the powers that be in hollywood,and the mafia. Their contract ended Dec 2010,and everything since then is Eli's people invention to keep her in the press.She was also banned from the set of IOM, and George would never allow her to be in the presence of his niece,and nephew.What was scary was this posters complete belief that all of this was true.

Katie, I know it was just a theory. Sorry if I was abrasive in my answer, but I do think that the reason (or one of the reasons) for his recent low key approach has more to do with the headlines connecting him to the Berlusconi/bunga stuff. Even if nothing comes of that (and more than like, IMO, nothing will), I think he realizes that with every picture of them together, the caption and/or text next to the picture will be a tag line mentioning the Berlusconi mess.

This is also a very good point/possibility Casey but she's been very visible recently and that hasn't been part of the tag line. I think that the truth is a little more complex and lies in a combination of things.

Elisabetta was on E news tonight in the Uk and yesterday in USA - my personal thought that i put on the other clooney forum:

Ok ive just seen the E entertainment interview with her and she comes across as ok, english not great but as a second language she did fine. A small get together with friends and George's parents is what i think she said to celebrate his birthday today and of course no to the big party, she denied ever organising one.

I think they are still definately together and i do think she will be spending the summer in como with him, i don't see any kind of break up happening in the near future she is doing something that he is really happy about and its obviously something we don't get to see.

Happy Birthday to George i hope whatever he does he has a lovely day.

in italy nobody speaks about berlusconis trial,everybody knows that canalis clooney are absolutely not important in the trial and will not have to come for witness and clooney was never connected with bunga bunga; ruby , the principal of the bitches said that clooney was at a dinner in berlusconis house with canalis NOT during one of the special parties;canalis already testified that she was not there;finished,the judge does not want to hear most of the witness brought from the defence of berlusconi;from one hundred people there are 20 left,surely NOT clooney among them so the supposed relation between them and berlusconi is not the reason for the low key(????).if he really did not want to be seen with her they could stay home;why we are trying to see the things more complicated than they are?they go on in their strange way but they are still together;if he goes out with her it means that hes ok with her, aloways why?what could be another reason?

I agree with Casey. He's been papped out since the filming ended, but only talked about being with EC. No photos. No saying he hasn't been with her, just that he seems to have his reason(s) for not wanting to be papped with her in public.

I agree with Doris - the Berlesconi thing is dead and buried.
And I've been thinking about the nutters at IMDb and the resultant theory that all the "seen but not photo'd" stuff is for security. But I have my doubts about that too. When pics appear, it's usually the next day. It's most certainly after the event, and George is nowhere near where the pics were taken, so if the nutters were going to do damage, it's too late by the time any pics appear.
So, I've got that far - and then I'm left scratching my head as to why he's so very determined not to be photographed with her.

lucy i dont know why they have not been seen together as before;but probably she was on the set of idles of march(we have seen a pic but we did not believe the girl was canalis);we have seen a pic of them in the shop during the shots and we did not want to believe it was true;there was a pic of them dining with his parents but we could not see if she really was there or not;somebody saw them at the airport but we did not believe it was them;i just said that the reason for them to hide ids not the trial of berlusconi,thats all; we dont like her,i swear im not a fan of betty but the fact is that they still go out together;

Maybe it is some sort of compromise. I will let people think we are still together (for whatever reason) but I won't be pictured with you. He really seems to be going out of his way not to get pictured with her. If he was worried about the IMDB crazies he wouldn't be showing up at such a celeb packed place where the paps practically camp out. All they need to do is follow twitter it leaks stuff as it happens. I think he has his reasons but I really do not think all is well between the two of them. This sudden Eli publicity surge has happened for a reason and no I don't believe it was Georges idea to take the heat of his birthday.

This whole PETA thing happened really fast. She just had the pictures done and then was all over the shows within24 to 48 hours. Just seems a little desperate to me. I think she is trying to change her image she has now realised she has rubbed people up the wrong way and is trying to come across as more fun loving. I think she is after some work!

I bet these interviews were planned in advance. I just think its weird that she did it the week of his birthday. Also, not one interviewer had the cajonies to ask EC about competing coffee ads between her and George. Why would a real couple do that?

Yes the twitter stuff is as it happens, but the crazies would have to be at the same place as the twitter comes from (and what would the odds of that be?)to do any harrm. If the crazy is at home or even out on the road and reads a twitter that he's at place A with Betty, then the crazy still has to get there and then George would probably be gone.
So maybe it's a compromise thing as you say Dex, but it sure is strange.
And no, George didn't get her the PETA gig to take the heat off his birthday. He's never made any secret about his birthday or his age, and I truly believe he doesn't care about turning 50. As he said, whether about this birthday or another one, it's better than being dead.

Maybe the reason from Mr Chow is that Betty was taking him out for his bday. It was the night before. A quiet like dinner for them then the party the day of that no-one will know much of.

Mr Chow is a Betty kind of restaurant. He doesn't go to places with paps unless he wants to be papped and is willing to be papped. Going there makes no sense if he chose where they would be eating then not coming out the front door. She may have announced where she had made a booking for his bday and he figured out a way to make it in and out without paps bothering him. In LA, that's not a logistical nightmare.

Until there is a split annoucement, there is no reason to believe that they aren't together still. And if she took him out for a quiet dinner for his bday - that's what girlfriends do. That actually seems nice and supportive. The pap friendly location screams self interest but.......

No pictures actually plays into the loonies over at IMDB's hands. It is simply fueling what they are saying. Showing up with her in real time would do the exact opposite. Once again because there are no pics they say it didn't happen and it is just Canalis and her PR team. Kirstie Alley fails to mention Eli and Joan's publicist can be bought according to them. They have always said harsh things about Eli nothing new to what is being said. Also they point out people go there to be seen cause the food isn't that great. Which is true! If he had off gotten his picture with her they would have said it was fake anyway but without one to them is proof it must be fake. George may not even be aware of the IMDB loonies and I doubt he would be living his life around them. He is a very stubborn man he would more then likely show up places with her to make it clear they were a couple and he doesn't take the stuff said seriously. But that isn't likely cause I really think things aren't all that rosy between the two and it has fizzled out. He just isn't ready to say it yet and neither is she!

And if he is aware he'd also know ways of making both of them secure if they were to go out publicly. He's away from Casa Clooney and Oleandra for months at a time, so he's got security at both places well in place, so personal security would just be an extension of that. He certainly wouldn't want to feel as though someone else was more or less running his life.

Also, I bet Stan and co would know ways of finding out just who those crazies are and keeping their eyes on her. After all, she's got an IMDb account, she posts on that other George fan site, so for hackers she wouldn't be too hard to track down. No, I really don't think that he worries too much about those crazies.

just a thought in my humble opinion though... am not so sure that a "fan" or "admirer" or "well wisher" or "whoever"... can really be all that powerful enough to influence George's movements Very Happy

He is an institution by himself, there are so many with him working as a Team... so I don't really believe in the "threat" pointers... Those threatening may even be "harmless", yet "severly faithful" in their minds / motives... although I am NOT saying that I recommend that path...

George may have had his reasons, simple or not, to do what he did or did not do... Smile

I guess, as the "Birthday person" he would've finally had "the say", in the way he wanted to celebrate his day ha ha h haaaaa (the rhyming goes ay ay ay)

Good point, I have always been harsh on what I 'perceive' to be her intentions or 'assumptions' of why she is doing something. The horse comments bothered me and I don't find her to be beautiful, attractive but not beautiful. I think she has a good body, great backside and try to throw a positive once in while. Baby steps.............

We do have to remember - this is George's choice and he is an adult (doesn't necessarily means he acts like one). I do get annoyed with people who label her a supermodel just cause she is banging George. How do you think the 'real' supermodels feel, they worked hard and she just has to sleep with the right guy? Sometimes it works both ways.

I do think she needs to stop dieting or working out showing her ribs and her collar bone sticking out like that isn't healthy or attractive. I get annoyed too at suddenly how somebody is a supermodel when clearly she isn't. I have noticed that she is never called talented or intelligent just hot and sexy, in the end it will only get her so far. Probably married to some rich bloke but it won't be to George, and in a few years when the body fades they usually get thrown over for someone younger with a hot body!

Exactly. If it were clear that George'n'Betty are still a couple, I think that would be enough to push the nut over the edge. Would she try to stalk Betty? Do her harm? I don't know. But at least one of the nuts is sending seriously abusive and threatening messages to other posters on IMDb - these are posters she thinks may harm George and so she sees it as her "duty" to protect him. How seriously does she take that duty if she sees Betty (the "satanist terrorist", if you remember) as a threat to George simply by dating him?

The second concern is for the nutcase's own safety. Those of us who were around about a year ago saw what happened when she went into total meltdown and started creating her websites about how she was going to marry him, was having psychis sex with him etc etc. That was serious looneytunes. Her whole sanity, such as it is, depends on George being single and never having really dated Betty in the first case. Who knows what she will do to herself if his relationship with Betty continues?

For George, who in any case said he wanted to reduce the amount of PR that he does, it's a pretty simple matter of not walking the red carpet and avoiding the paps when he's with Betty. It doesn't change that much of his (or her) life but it may just keep the crazies at bay.

And yes, it's just a theory.
