Well now I am confused. Not sure where it's going to be and I sure don't want to trek all the way down there to find that it's not being shown there.

Hmmm...

Maybe Koo Koo for Coco Puffs has asserted herself so much on IMDB that they're afraid to announce where the premiere will be held in case she decides to show up!

Somebody was asking about premiere - can't find anything that says premiere but there is a limited start for TD on Nov. 16. Looked it up and found
LOS ANGELES COUNTY MUSEUM OF ART, BING THEATER. 7:00 SHOWING and states No Passes. This might be it, or not! I tried.

We Talk with George Clooney about his new film The Descendants

George Clooney’s new film The Descendants, directed by Alexander Payne, the creator of the Oscar-winning Sideways, is set in Hawaii and follows the unpredictable journey of an American family at a crossroads. Matt King (George Clooney), a husband and father of two girls, must re-examine his past and navigate his future when his wife is in a boating accident off Waikiki. While trying to repair his relationship with his kids, he discovers his wife was cheating on him during the time of her accident, forcing him to reexamine his life. We had the chance to talk with George Clooney about the film and his time in Hawaii.

Tell us about the movie Descendants?

The director Alexander Payne told me he had a script he wanted me to read and I told him I would do it without even reading it. I wanted to work with him.

How did you get this part ?

Well Alexander failed to find me fastening enough when I met with him Sideways. I just can’t seem to let that go. But he came to me in Toronto and said I have a script for you and in fact I am writing it for you. I said to him I am doing it before I even read it.

What was shooting In Hawaii like?

Well people drive really slow, something like 45 miles an hour, so it takes awhile to get into that rhythm. I would be behind the wheel yelling because I wanted to go 50. But what a great place to shoot a movie .

So what was different about this shoot that was different?

One of the things that was different about it was that I did not have relatives visiting me on the set everyday. When I shoot a movie in my home town of Kentucky, so many relatives show up. Cousins, many cousins I did not know I even had show up!

What do you look for in a movie project that you accept?

Most of the time I am working in places I am not so familiar with, so location is not really a factor. I look for a great script, a great director.

Hawaii turned out ok for you?

With this project, shooting in Hawaii, there is really nothing bad, no down side to that. I had not spent that much time there.

What about your clothes in the movie?

Well I told the director, wearing these khakis sky high, like up by my chin and these tropical shirts, I am not completely against khakis, but I may never get laid again!

How have you changed over the years as both an actor and director?

The older you get the less judgmental you get.

In this movie, as it unfolds, he seems to grow as a human being by the end?

At the end of the movie you realize even though his wife had cheated on him, he just was not there. In fact, he was never there for her or their kids.

How have you changed as a human being over the years?

I found as I get older, you start thinking that maybe you had been making issues bigger than they were. For example, things you thought were a certain way, well, as the years pass you find you were just plain wrong.

The Descendants opens in theaters November 18th.

The Descendents is not playing in any movie in my area on Nov. 18th... CRAP

It seems "Breaking Dawn" is taking up all the stage areas in the theater. And, for some ungodly reason Ides of March is still playing there after over a month.

It is opening for a limited run only to make sure it gets its proper screen time for Oscar qualifications - which is usually New York, Los Angeles and I think Chicago. I think it opens for the rest of the country in December.

Shailene Woodley on The Descendants, Crying Underwater, and George Clooney’s Fart Machine

Remember the name Shailene Woodley. Not only is she beautiful (Nylon chose her as a “face of the future” in its "young Hollywood" issue), but the kid can act. She’s the emotional center of the new George Clooney tearjerker The Descendants, where she plays his moody teenage daughter, one more tenuous relationship he works on repairing after his wife is in a boating accident. Though Woodley is in tears for much of the movie, she also told us about lighter moments during the shoot, like counting chickens in Hawaii and how it wasn’t weird to call George Clooney pussy.

Do you have a crush on George?
A crush on George? He’s 50. No. [Laughs.] I mean, I guess I have a crush on him in terms of him just being a phenomenal human being. Not a crush — I’m enamored by his human being-ness, and who he is in this world. But no, he’s 50. That would be weird to say I had a crush on him. It would be … I’m just turning 20.

Did he play any pranks on you, or spare the kids?
Yeah, he’s famous for his pranks, but most of the time it’s films where there are mostly adults. Put a 10-year-old on set and we didn’t get any big pranks, but we did get practical jokes. The fart machine would come out.

The fart machine?
Like on his iPhone, he has an app that makes fart sounds. In between takes from a serious scene, he’d pull it out. He has this amazing ability to be goofy and silly, and in the blink of an eye transform into this vulnerable, serious character.

Was it really fun that one of your lines is telling George Clooney, “Don’t be a pussy”?
George Clooney sort of lost his “George Clooney-ness” the first day I met him. He’s not George Clooney in my eyes — he’s George from Kentucky with an awesome, awesome heart. So it wasn’t weird for me to say that. It was like saying it to anyone.

One of the most moving moments in the film is when he tells you something really terrible about your mother — we won’t spoil it — and you’re in the backyard pool, of all places.
I feel so fortunate for that scene. It was written in the script as, She goes underwater and distorts her face, and I saw that as, She goes underwater and loses her shit. She was able to be vulnerable for the first time without anyone seeing. Being Hawaiian, I took her to be a water baby, so the water was very comforting for her. And then being an actor, it was selfishly my own therapy session. I got to scream underwater. I just naturally cried because if you were being told that [about] your mom, you would cry in real life.

Most teenagers don’t get to spend weeks in Hawaii. How amazing was it to film there?
I’d never been before, but it’s home. My body’s from L.A., but my heart is from Hawaii. There’s a magical energy there. It’s very … I don’t want to say spiritual. But within two seconds of getting off the plane, I immediately become centered and grounded, and listen to myself, which is easy to lose sight of when you’re involved with all the materialism of Los Angeles. When we weren’t filming, we were hiking up waterfalls, jumping off things, kayaking, snorkeling, and doing things we probably shouldn’t contractually be doing, but it was amazing. We would go on these divine ten-hour hikes and you’d go, "Wow. There are more chickens than humans."

[Director] Alexander Payne is so drawn to these stories of men in midlife crises. Was there anything you could relate to in it?
I really connected to the end scene; for me, it symbolizes that life goes on. Tragedy strikes, and you sit in it, and you kind of get lost in it for a while, and then you move on. That’s what really hit home for me.

Had you seen any of his other films?
I saw Sideways when I was, like, 14. I didn’t get it. I was like, “Why are you laughing, Mom? It’s not funny at all.” When I booked this movie, I rewatched it and I was like, “Wow. This man is brilliant. This is one of the most amazing films I’ve ever seen.”

I think you’d also like Election more than, say, About Schmidt.
I haven’t seen it. I’m really the most uneducated actor when it comes to knowing producers, directors, writers, actors — I don’t know anyone. People get offended by that, but I just don’t ever sit down to watch movies. I hadn’t even seen The Graduate or Annie Hall. But working with Alexander and George, two of the biggest film nerds there are, [now] I have an extensive list.

George Clooney Talks ‘Descendants’ Co-Star Shailene Woodley & Oscar Buzz
George Clooney appears to have anointed his “The Descendants” co-star, Shailene Woodley, as the next actress to keep an eye on.

Access Hollywood caught with George at the premiere of his latest, where he enthusiastically gave his 20-year-old co-star his stamp of approval – after having a little bit of fun of course.

“I don’t like her. I didn’t really have to work with her. It was all green screen,” the actor joked when asked about Shailene, who plays his daughter in the Alexander Payne-directed movie.

All jokes aside, George had nothing but praise for the actress best known for her role on ABC Family’s “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.”

“She’s something else. She’s a very special girl,” he told Access. “I think she’s going to have an amazing career.”

The actor, who is already getting Oscar buzz for his roles in “The Ides of March” and “The Descendants,” remained humble about any possible future accolades.

“It’s nice to have films that people like out there. It’s always fun to do that. It’s just exciting to have that,” George said. “I’ve been the front runner a couple of times and have lost. So I don’t ever listen… I really do enjoy movies. I really like being in them and I like seeing them, that’s all I really think about and worry about. The rest, I kind of let do its thing.”

“The Descendants” opens in theaters today.

Here's celebitchy's latest on George"

George Clooney just got called out by his 11-year-old costar

An 11-year-old girl “gets” George Clooney more than any of his girlfriends ever have. George Clooney’s shenanigans are obvious to small children. George Clooney is not trying to convince anyone that he likes children, ever. So, Clooney is still in Oscar-campaign mode, this time for The Descendants. Clooney plays a father of two daughters, one a teenager played by 19-year-old Shailene Woodley, and a younger girl played by 11-year-old Amara Miller. Shailene has been doing some red carpets and promotional work for the film, but this is one of the few times I’ve seen quotes from Amara - and now I know why. The kid is super-blunt, hilarious, and she pulls no punches. She sounds like a pistol, doesn’t she? Yeah, she took one look at Clooney and saw him for what he was: a man who has no interest in being a father. Why can’t adult ladies see this in him?

Any woman who wants George Clooney for her baby daddy might want to reconsider. According to Amara Miller, who plays the actor’s daughter in The Descendants, Clooney, 50, would not make a very good dad.

“Let me just say, he wouldn’t be good as a father,” Miller told Us Weekly at the movie’s premiere Tuesday in Beverly Hills, Calif. “He wouldn’t be the best as a father.”

Why not? “George likes being an adult,” she explained. “George has fun being an adult, and I don’t think he would like having kids. I know that he’s not planning on having kids anytime soon.”

But Miller did say Clooney was “really amazing… so fun and [always] playing and fooling around and joking.”

“He was just a really phenomenal person to work with,” she said. “[But] we don’t really keep in touch anymore. He’s George Clooney… No one really keeps in touch with him anymore!”

Another person who might agree that Clooney wouldn’t make the best dad? Ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis, who told Italian broadcaster Bruno Vespa in his book This Love that the duo had “a father-daughter relationship.”

“We both decided it was time to split up,” she said. “George and I never spoke about marriage or children. I’m not saying that I don’t want them but neither he or I ever imagined having children together.”

[From Us Weekly]

Clooney is like every child’s wayward, playboy uncle who lets you sip his beer if you fetch him two aspirins for his hangover. He’s your dad’s best friend who always has a new, younger girlfriend, whho he flaunts around the barbeque, encouraging the men to leer at his young date and her new boobs (which he paid for). He’s your little-seen godfather who doesn’t pay any attention to you as you’re growing up, but suddenly takes an uncomfortable interest in you when you turn 18. Clooney is totally that guy.

But seriously, how funny is that an 11-year-old girl just called out Hollywood’s “most eligible” bachelor?

Now, why can't the grownups see this?

I knew I liked that Amara! You tell him, sister. Thumbs up!

The reason the (cough) "ladies" (cough) he dates don't see it is because they are blinded by pap flashes and dollar signs.
