Hey Laetval, it looks like this:

Technical questions - Page 6 Script10

I use CSS to format the site. A few months ago I added a script to format the way pictures are displayed but I've since deleted it.

Ok thanks Katie for the screenshot. Wink

For those who have still the problem with the script errors of Internet Explorer, first try to use another browser (like Opera, Safari, Chrome...) to see if the message error display again.

If the script errors appears only on Internet Explorer and so only occasionnally, then you can disable the script errors of the browser.

To do this :

1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Click the tools button and then click Internet Options
3. Click Advance tab, select the Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer) and Disable script debugging (Other) check boxes. in the Browser section.
4. Clear the Display a notification about every script error check box, and then click OK.
5. Reboot Internet Explorer

You can also delete all the cookies and tempory files of your browser.

If after all of this, le script errors appears again on Internet Explorer or if you are having problem with the above procedure, then please send me an reply. Thank you!

Hi Laetval,
I followed your instructions and all my settings were already as you instructed.
This is only happening on the Berlusconi thread (I know, just stay away from it - hahahaha).
I could not screen print as it literally freezes me up and I have to "ctrl-alt-delete" and eject it from my Task Manager. It reads as follows:
An error has occurred in the script on this page.
Access is denied
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page? yes no

It doesn't matter if I hit yes or no or try to "x" out of it, as it won't let me move. Then I do the c-a-d and have to start all over.

Thanks!

Mel, exactly the same thing happens to my computer on the Berlusconi thread. Thanks Katie for the hint to unfreeze it. I'll try it but until then I just wait until I'm ready to sign off anyway and then read the thread. LOL

Hi Mel, I took Katie's advice and clicked a few times (actually 15 times) and it unfroze and it hasn't freezed on me again (so far). Persistence pays off.

It's kind of like when you need a person and get a recording just press "0" enough times and you finally get a person. LOL

You see it by clicking the wheel at the top right of the navigation bar then click "About IE".
The last version is IE9

One more thing you can delete from your browser, it's to fire all the unecessary add-ons you don't need (like google tool bar, yahoo tool bar..... or something you never installed on your computer)

Go to IE & go to "manage add-ons", disable all the tool bar.

Try it & tell me if it's works. Smile

Hi silly girl - I'm seeing the same thing. Just to check it out I went into my profile, "Preferences" and "Hide my online status." I checked no again and it's still hiding it. It may be just a glitch in the system. Hopefully Katie can correct it.

Hiya, I changed the settings. Having some issues with trolls so for your privacy I'm hiding information about the users of this site as much as I can. Hope it doesn't inconvenience anyone too much.

If you want, I can bring it back but that means visitors to the site can see who's online.

Porn sites.

Every day I get an unsolicited porn site popping up when I'm on
COH...this happens only on my iPad as I have Ad Block on my MacBook.
It doesn't happen on other web sites......ah...I wonder if it's a special cyber message coming through from GTC ?? lol!

I've explored installing Ad Block on my iPad, with no success, but haven't gone into it thoroughly yet.
Does this happen to anyone else ?
Does anyone have any tips on preventing it happening ?

It's a good job I'm not narrow minded.

Gosh! That shouldn't be happening. Is it an advert on this site or is it another screen popping up when you come to this site?

Do you have any way of taking a screen shot when it happens? I can then pass it to the people who built the site and are taking the advertising.

Joanna, the same thing has happened to me, when I use my iPad! Checked to see if an iPad could get a virus but they said no.

For me, anyway, what happens is that it suddenly just pops up. The page changes. Sometimes it happens when I click on a link to photos or an article. Instead of going to the DM, I get the porn site (and, frankly, sometimes I wonder if the porn site isn't more newsworthy Very Happy). Other times it will just suddenly link me to the porn site--it usually sends me to another page. It's pretty hardcore stuff at least to me, and sadly, as Joanna says, it's definitely for the enjoyment of men only.

And, it didn't occur to me until Joanna said it, but it only happens here.

Ok, the technical dudes have spoken and as always it's the same suggestion first. Could you both clear your cookies/cache for safari & then check if it still happens? Also, if possible, could you take a screenshot of such a ad if displayed?

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks Katie....Sorry....I've only just come online.....yes it's a new page completely, showing naked girls and headed something like
Slags and Slappers.
I've now cleared my cookies so hopefully that will solve it.
But if it does happen again I'll remember to photo it for you to pass on.

It's not an ad though. It takes us to the site itself, I think. Haven't checked it out much. Have simply deleted as quickly as possible. Will try to remember to take a screen shot when it happens next...you can do that on an iPad right?

Thanks Katie!

I've just changed my avatar via iPad.... Yahooooo

Go to profile...click on Avatar.....click on choose file...it will give you a choice of choosing a picture from your existing pictures...ie on your camera roll or albums.
Choose a picture.....click on save at bottom of page...wait.....then click on go to profile...and voila your avatar will appear !

Good Luck.

Post by Joanna Sun 09 Dec 2012, 12:48

I have a question for iPad users here on the forum.

I can't post a picture from my picture albums stored on my iPad,
in the usual manner, on the forum.
I get to the copying stage alright but then it will only paste a reference number, not the picture.
I've been able to post my pictures stored on my iPad as my avatar with no problem.

Any ideas how I can post pictures that I've got in my
iPad albums on the forum, please ?

If you are near an Apple store you can take your iPad there and they will show you how. Make an appt. first. You can use the genius bar or the group lesson and it shouldn't cost anything.
