Ladies and gentlemen hold on to your hats - George Clooney is coming down under!
The silver fox has confirmed he'll be coming to Sydney in December to speak at the Global Leadership Forum being held at the Sydney Convention Center.

As well as George Clooney, lifestyle maven Martha Stewart and rap heavyweight Russell Simmons are also expected to make the trip down under.

The 'Ides of March' star will be headlining the one-day seminar (taking place on December 12), with reports suggesting he will discuss is career success as well as addressing issues in Southern Sudan.

The seminar will give businesses and employees a forum to discuss future trends, business strategy and growth, technology, brand management and how to inspire people.

Clooney, 50, has increasingly used his celebrity power in recent years to highlight important global issues, especially the difficulties of the people of Sudan.

"There is more attention on celebrity than ever before," Clooney said.

"There is a use for that - besides selling products - to amplify the voice of the guy who lives in Darfur and is worried about his wife and children being slaughtered."
Clooney has been involved in a number of charity projects, including the co-founding of Darfur aid organisation Not On Our Watch, as well as serving as a United Nations Messenger of Peace

Has George been papped still he left Oz after the conference? Could he have gone to the Sudan on the way home? I mean, he got the paycheck to help fund NOOW so... Possible? John was travelling with him. I mean, it a long flight from no matter where you are but why not do a stopover on the way home. It's almost a year since the election and as he has John tagging along (who was with him in Sydney yet had nothing to do with the Sydney trip and did not attend the conference) it would be a good time to fit in a trip to keep focus and especially if he has surgery next year and is laid up for awhile and can't make the trip for a period of time after the surgery.

Also it is award/Oscar season but that is me being cynical but why not be opportunistic? He made sure eveyone knew the money for the appearances at Sydney and Hong Kong would not end up in his back pocket. There is still attention and buzz from the Sydney trip to drum up more attention and focus on the continuing issues of the Sudan.

Possible? Maybe? Unlikely?

Watching, I agree with you. He's gone to ground again, so he can disappear when he wants to. It would make sense and I too was wondering how and when he would go seeing as he couldn't when the elections were on. With so much on the awards front, it wouldn't surprise me one bit, also Stace has gone quite so it would all fit in!

That is a good idea watching. Maybe he will let us know he was there he usually does once he is back and safe. It shows that he and Stacy can get away from the paps when they want too.
