Wouldn't you? He certainly does allow people to "use" him, doesn't he? However, he's even said that the cameras follow him wherever he goes, so put a light on it. I think he was talking about Darfur and Sudan, but what the hell. Ohio may as well use him!

I think he's still in Ohio It's Me. They were supposed to do that casting call yesterday (don't know if he was there for that), and then more stuff this next week. Maybe he went down to Augusta to see Mom and Dad and Ada and Nicky and Allison?

He may be visiting mum and dad or doing more scouting around the area. I'm sure we will hear more!

Sighting - George watched Super Bowl in Cincinnati

George Clooney may be filming his new movie The Ides of March in Cincinnati, but that doesn't mean the actor didn't catch the Super Bowl. In fact, he watched it with costars Ryan Gosling, Evan Rachel Wood and their crew at BlackFinn Restaurant and Saloon, taking in the game from a private lounge. Clooney ordered a burger and onion rings, while the group ordered one of each dessert on the menu. "He was really nice and down to earth," an onlooker says of the actor, who left a generous tip.

A burger and onion rings??? Good for George,I bet it's been awhile since he's enjoyed traditional Americana.Ryan,I have a super crush on that young man,I've been watching his movies since the notebook,and I think he is a fine young actor.Can't wait to see what he's like when he ages a bit.

Yum. Good football watching food! Nice to have a splurge every now and then. I like Ryan Gosling too. Loved The Notebood. I actually got him mixed up with the other Ryan and thought he was married to Scarlett Johanson. I was relieved when I found out it wasn't him cause I can't stand Scarlett!

I get all those young stars mixed up Dex. They all look the same - same girls, same guys. They're all splashed over the webmags, going this place and that place. I just shake my head wondering who the hell they are!

Clooney Watch: He’s Filming

Filming has started for the George Clooney movie “Ides of March.” We know this because it turns out there’s a Cincinnati Police Officer assigned to the film crew.

Sgt. Greg Lewton, of the department’s special events unit, said he was at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport today and would be headed to Northside soon. He goes along to make sure the film crew has what it needs – any city permission, cars moved, etc.

They’re filming background stuff now, he said. And the bad news for all the ladies on Clooney Watch: they don’t stay in any one place very long. “George really doesn’t waste a lot of time any time in a particular location.”

We didn’t talk long – he had to go when the production crew called – but it didn’t sound like any acting was being filmed yet. But yes, Mr. Clooney is out and about in this city.

“Since he’s the director,” Lewton said, “he’s got to see a lot of the shots.”

Clooney spotted in Northside

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - George Clooney was spotted in Northside Thursday, filming scenes from his new movie, 'The Ides of March.'

FOX19 reporter Emily Wood snapped a photo of Clooney on Hamilton Avenue around 9:45 a.m.

A production truck for George Clooney's new movie, 'The Ides of March,' was parked Thursday morning in the 400 block of Race Street.

Almost 30 locations are expected to be used during filming.

Clooney Movie Shoot A Family Affair This Morning

So I’m standing in the cold this morning in Northside, watching George Clooney shoot some scenes for his “Ides of March” film, when who walks up but his parents, Nick and Nina Clooney. And then I see George’s sister, Ada. It turns out that George has invited his nephew Nick — Ada’s son and Nick and Nina’s grandson — to be an extra in the film. They shot him in front of Park Chili wearing a “Pullman for President” sign.

Pullman is a rival candidate to George Clooney’s character, Gov. Morris. Shortly after 8 a.m., the movie crew went into Bill’s Ace Hardware and Electric, a Northside landmark since 1955, and put a “Morris” poster in the front window. When I arrived about 7:30 a.m., already three police cruisers were on or near Hamilton Avenue. Extras were meeting inside Melt on Hamilton Avenue. Crew cleaned the hardware store windows and set up the street for a scene in which people were walking in front of the store, and one guy goes into the hardware shop. More trucks and crew came between 8-9 a.m., and Clooney arrived about 9. And they were all gone by 10 a.m.

I’m not sure where they are headed next…. but if you see activity near a bright yellow “‘IOM” sign, that’s the clue that Clooney’s “Ides of March” is nearby!

Clooney visits Blue Wisp Jazz Clubs

George Clooney surprised and delighted big band fans at the Blue Wisp Jazz Club Wednesday night, when the actor, along with his parents, Nick and Nina Clooney, and several actors and crew members from his film, “Ides of March,” showed up to listen to the Blue Wisp Big Band.
Clooney, who seems to be visiting iconic Cincinnati sites as he begins filming for his movie about a Democratic governor campaigning in the presidential primaries, arrived just as the Big Band was playing, appropriately, “Who Knows Where or When.”
Clooney appeared relaxed and happy as he carried drinks to his table, gave the band a standing ovation after their set, and then jumped up to talk to the musicians. The band’s leader, legendary drummer John Von Ohlen, worked for 15 years with Clooney’s aunt, Rosemary Clooney. She joined the Big Band for a benefit concert in Kentucky that Von Ohlen said he’ll never forget.
“She had a drummer on the West Coast, and a drummer on the East Coast, and I was the one in the middle,” Von Ohlen said Wednesday.
Clooney and actors Ryan Gosling and Evan Rachel Wood were friendly to Blue Wisp fans, posing with them for photos and signing autographs.
Nick Clooney, asked whether it was nice to have George working so close to home, said, “Yes, and it’s about time.”
Going to the Blue Wisp was Clooney’s idea, said his mom, Nina.
“He wanted the people that are working on the movie with him to see this. The young people have never seen a big band in person and they were so excited,” she said. “It’s really neat.”
Gosling, who had clapped along with the music, called the experience “one of the best nights of my life” and vowed to come back.
“I just love Cincinnati. I had no idea what I was in store for. It has so much style and it’s got a lot of history. It’s a beautiful place,” he said.
The Blue Wisp owners hope the publicity of having a movie production in town could help give the jazz club on Eighth Street, downtown, some needed visibility.
“It’s great for us. It’s no-lose,” said club co-owner Ed Felson.

The right way to stalk George Clooney

So we all know the most handsome man in the world, George Clooney, is in town and filming his new movie, “Ides of March.” We learned today that he was on Hamilton Avenue shooting some scenes, and that he was wearing a blue Xavier ball cap and smiling for pictures with fans.

We also know that in addition to the stars of the movie, the props are also traveling through town — did anyone else get a peek at the “Elect Morris” (Clooney’s character) bus that roared down a Downtown street last night?

Twitter user @geekjames was all over the story this morning, walking his basset hound to the filming scene in Northside, where he met Clooney and a bunch of his family members.

You can see Grant in a few of the photos. He's all bundled up and wearing sunglasses and has a wool hat on, too.

In the video, poor Ada, it looked to me that as soon as she saw the video camera she turned and walked away.

She turned 19 today Sisieq, so I'm sure she's in college, if she's going to school. I am pretty sure she would though.

I was over on Frenchies' site and I found a pic, 3rd pic under the video, showing Nick, Ada, Nicky, and I think, maybe Allison.

Nice to see the family meeting up. I wonder if Nicky could get a cameo. You never know that is how george started out. It looks freezing there!

George Clooney’s 14-year-old nephew filmed his movie debut Thursday morning in Northside as an extra in his uncle’s “Ides of March.”

“He’s in show business now!” said Clooney about Zeidler, who was following his great-aunt Rosemary, grandfather Nick, and uncle George into movies.

Clooney, who plays presidential candidate Gov. Mike Morris, invited Zeidler to be in a street scene wearing a sandwich-board-style campaign poster for his opponent that read “Pullman for President.”

“He thought it would be fun. And he let Nick bring along some friends,” says Ada Zeidler of Petersburg, George’s older sister.

So Nick Zeidler skipped eighth-grade classes at Conner Middle School in Hebron on Thursday morning to stand in front of Park Chili with three teen-age friends.

“You’ll be in the opening sequence of the movie,” Clooney told him after shooting four drive-by takes from a camera mounted in a minivan.

Thursday was a Clooney family affair. George’s parents, Nick and Nina Clooney, came to watch grandson “Nicky” along with Ada and her daughter, Allison Zeidler, celebrating her 20th birthday.

Ada Zeidler appreciated the rare chance to see her Oscar-winning brother at work.
“He’s been so busy. It’s always nice to be able to see him,” she says.

Police had posted no parking signs along Hamilton Avenue Wednesday, in preparation for the filming. Three police cruisers arrived by 7:30 a.m. Thursday, a half-hour before the production staff and several dozen spectators started to gather.

Two crew members washed the front windows of Ace Hardware and Electric on Hamilton Avenue, as a third positioned a Morris for president poster behind the glass.

Clooney, who will direct and star, arrived shortly after 9 a.m. wearing a blue Xavier University “X” ball cap. He supervised extras walking in front of and entering the store. Police stopped traffic about a half-dozen times for the filming.

By 10:15 a.m., Clooney and his crew were gone.

But they left a lifetime of memories for those who watched Hollywood come to Hamilton Avenue.

“It’s such an unusual place to film a movie. Nothing like this ever happens in Northside. This is amazing,” said Lindy Gamble, 17, of Northside, who skipped school to see the filming with her father, Matthew Mincey, 46, of Lincoln Heights.

Clooney is expected to film here three or four weeks. His cast includes Ryan Gosling, Marisa Tomei, Evan Rachel Wood, Paul Giamatti, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright and Max Minghella.

On Wednesday, after shooting exteriors at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, Clooney filmed a Morris campaign commercial at Norwood’s Cast-Fab Technologies Inc. About 30 employees were used as extras, says Farley Houston of Cast-Fab.

“He was here about two hours and signed autographs and posed for photos with anyone who was interested,” Houston said.

George Clooney surprises the staff at Sonoma Grill in Cincinnati

One of our readers, Annette, sent us this photo of her boyfriend, Joel Foust, and his co-worker, Sarah Rogers, with George Clooney at the Sonoma America & Mediterranean Grill in Cincinnati, OH yesterday.

Joel, the restaurant’s manager, and Sarah, a waitress, got the surprise of their lives Wednesday afternoon when George came into the restaurant for lunch.


Annette told us, “George Clooney [had] lunch at Sonoma America & Mediterranean Grill in Oakley [Cincinnati] with a group of around 30. He was super friendly, funny. He had the chicken kabob and said he enjoyed it. [He also] granted a request for a picture with the manager and the waitress that served them. [Joel] said George was completely nice when they asked for the picture, he also said he recognized Grant Heslov there as well.”

George is in town shooting The Ides of March, which he not only stars in, but is also directing. Today, they shot scenes inside the storefront of Ace Hardware and Electric on Hamilton Avenue in the Northside. The hardware store was made to look like a campaign office for George’s character, Virginia governor Mike Morris.

Still in Cincinnati filming his new movie, George Clooney and several members of the crew stopped into Sonoma American & Mediterranean Grill for a quick lunch in the private dining room. While many in the group of 20 ordered burgers or gyros, Clooney stuck with a chicken kebab.

At about 40 seconds, is that Waldo just to (our) left of George? Person is wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses. In Hawaii, it seems that Waldo was acting as a bodyguard-type role, too. Waldo is a good looking guy and so is this guy, so that's what made me think it might be Waldo.
