George Clooney: Don’t marry me off


George Clooney is sick of people trying to “marry [him] off”.
The hunky star is one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors and has dated a string of beauties in the past including Elisabetta Canalis and Lisa Snowdon.
He is currently in a relationship with stunning Stacy Keibler, with reports suggesting the pair are getting ready to walk down the aisle.
George divorced actress Talia Balsam in 1993 and has said in the past he will never marry again. The actor has laughed off claims he will tie the knot with Stacy.
“It’s always that way!” he exclaimed when asked about reports he is set to marry. “People have been trying to marry me off ever since I was 30! No comment.”
George was speaking at the BAFTAs in London, where he graced the glitzy red carpet. The 50-year-old explained how he usually spends his Sundays in Los Angeles.
“I’d play a little basketball during the day, then probably screen a movie at night. It’s not easy for me to go out, so I like quiet nights in,” he told Closer magazine.

Nope kind off worrying why this took so long. But the I don't want to marry stuff isn't great for Stacy. I don't remember any they are getting married rumours yet!

I guess they just launched the marrying rumors, easy enough you write that there are marrying rumors, and there are in fact marrying rumors...

So if George is always being asked about getting married, then why don't WE his fans come up with better questions? ABC will have TWO live feeds on the red carpet tomorrow. The second reporter will be asking questions that FANS pose to the nominees via twitter and I think Facebook.

Seems we could come up with better more insightful questions (all we have to do is keep them to less than 140 characters!)

Well, the headline said Don't Marry Me Off, so they sold a few more newspapers maybe, but George said 'They've been trying to marry me off since I was thirty. No comment'

There is an old statement that more often than not, does actually apply. "Me thinkest that thou protestesth too much."

More likely, he hasn't been ready to "settle down" while his career was at such a high degree of demand, with PR contract girls too boot.

I have the strangest feeling that he will soon at some point meet that someone who will cause the stir in him that most men get who are the "bachelor" that causes them to think about the "M" word. Kids? That one is the most protested, and recently. But still, it is rather late for that. It would have to be a younger woman who would have a chance to be young enough to be there when the kid(s) grow up to get married or graduate from college.

Now not saying it will happen but it sure seems that lately there has been so much of it coming from him, and recently he also said he wasn't against marriage, but just not thinking about it.

Either that was a hard ploy to gather more oscar attention or he is back tracking for some reason.

He flip flops on this issue depending on who he talks to and what mood he's in.

He sometimes likes to say that he's only once said he'd never get married and it's been endlessly repeated by others [in an interview shortly after his divorce (I can't think who'd be interviewing him then when he wasn't all that famous)] but we've all heard him say it since; most memorably about this time last year while being interviewed by Piers Morgan for CNN.

It was Barbara Walters 100 years ago Katie not too long after his divorce from Talia. However, he has implied in many, many interviews that marriage wouldn't happen again, just not in those exact words. If people would quit asking him about it, he wouldn't be the one mentioning it. He just answers their questions.
