AWARDS SEASON AGAIN!
Jan 15.12

The parties are back-to-back and the nominees pretty much go to them all. Richard and I go to the ones that feature the films, actors and directors we especially admire.

Yesterday, just about every major film star and major director, well, 125 of us, who has worked for Paramount Pictures, gathered on a sound stage to have our group photo taken for the studios 100th anniversary. Let me tell you, it was very thrilling. I was in the 90th anniversary photo and many of the same people were assembled. Some, obviously, have passed. I think especially of Jane Russell who was there with us 10 years ago.

I wish I could have taken pictures of everyone there but it wasn’t possible. Here are the ones I did get:

I wonder if sometimes he gets tired of the whole 'got to go to another industry cocktail party and schmooze' thing or if he still enjoys them all.

I bet some of them he really enjoys! It's his job and no matter what... this is what makes him successful. He has a lot of friends in the industry so, even if he is tired when he arrives, he starts talking to them and feels better! IMHO

Wow Laetval you have been busy. I think George really wants this oscar and is doing what he needs too, to get it. I think he likes people and clearly here is having a good time. Not sure he always wants to be there but everyone has days where they just want to be alone.

Cameron Diaz, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Sean Penn, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Downey, JR., Robert De Niro and Tom Cruise were among the movie superstars who gathered at Paramount Studios' fabled Lot 18 for an eye-popping 'class' photo to celebrate the film Mecca's 100th birthday.

Photographer Art Streiber shot the star-studded group snap for Vanity Fair and admits he was cool, calm and collected until DiCaprio arrived.

He recalls, "He looked up at the stage and he said, 'This is epic'."

And the magic moment wasn't lost on Charlize Theron: "There are moments in your life where you find yourself in circumstances where you just have to pinch yourself. I got to rest my hand on Harrison Ford's shoulder, while Steven Spielberg was standing next to me - not too shabby."

The shoot also features young stars like Justin Bieber and Megan Fox and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley from the Transformers movie franchise.

In total 116 superstars and movie executives turned up for the once-in-a-lifetime shoot, photographed on the soundstage that housed the Star Trek TV and movie franchises.

Star Trek captains William Shatner, Patrick Stewart and Chris Pine were part of the photograph.

Streiber admits it was a great opportunity to reunite some co-stars: "There were a lot of people who hadn't seen each other in years."
