Since I couldn't sleep I was going to come and do this, but once again, you beat me to something TheMinis!! Happy July 1st! Do you have my Christmas present bought yet??? I'll take George with a side of Gio and a case of Casamigos. Oh, is that asking too much???

AAarrgggghhhhh! Don't bring up Christmas! We've already had two meetings on the subject at work (we have to do a lot of long-range planning). By the time crimbo actually rolls around, we're all heartily sick of it!

Oh Katie bahumbug, really. If I remember correctly my work Chrismtas functions were the highlight of the year, the problem is too much drinky drinky resulted in me forgetting most of these functions, however I have heard I was the Belle of the Ball - I once fell out of a boat and it was a bloody big boat - I fell off a keg of beer (think I was dancing on it) - I chased a fire engine down the road (why because it was there) - challenged the male execs to a whiskey drinking comp - the fools forgot I was Scottish, they were legless long before I, that event resulted in a nasty call from one of the wives after her hubby came home and threw up all over the house. Ah the memories, luckily I grew up a tad.

Mel, my son managed to make it to age 4 without any hint of asthma, but when my 3rd son was born all 3 got whooping cough, our little 2 week old baby was blessed and lucky to survive. The experts feel that the whooping cough may have brought out his asthma, don't know about that. However 6 weeks into having whooping cough my son woke me and virtually collapsed on our bed, luckily I had ventolin in the house from when my daughter had bronchiolitis so I gave it to him (or tried) till the ambulance arrived. That was so scary, first time I had seen an asthma attack and he was so panicky they strapped him into a stretcher and gave him oxygen with medicine, he kept trying to rip it off his face, never forget the noises he made. The stuff of nightmares. However he has since had 3 more (not as severe luckily) but he has preventar daily and hoping he will grow out of it. I will take what I get, there are (touching wood) worse things that can happen, but yeah it scares me sometimes.

Can't believe we have July already. If I look back I feel like I haven't done anything the last 6 month. So weird......and don't get me started about Christmas.....ooohhh.

Nicky - yeah I do Christmas well, with or without alcohol. However seeing as between us Hubby and I have 12 siblings and a billion nephews/nieces its been my experience that a wee drop of alcohol helps keep the Merry..

We have a new mayor in Los Angeles. Just heard a bit of his speech. Seems kinda stiff - not such a dynamic public speaker.

Oh well, can't have everything, hopefully he'll get stuff done without any scandal. (i.e. the last mayor was caught up in a "he's-married-but-now-we-find-out-he's-screwing-someone-else" scandal that cost him his marriage.)

And the problem with that kind of stuff is that it shows he's a liar. If he's screwing around on his wife he's got to be lying to her so then the question that comes to mind is -- what's he screwing around with in City Hall? He's been hinting at running for Governor one day. Oh god help us!

So like I said, the new guy is not such a dynamic speaker but hopefully, he'll focus on the results and actually get something done.

I didn't see the news today and sometimes US news is covered here, that's very sad about the firefighters, brave men/women who put others safety before their own - God Bless.

Lorna - I hate to be cynical but I am no longer surprised to hear of scandals and politicians or elected officials, seems par for the course.

The terrible news about the loss of 19 very brave firefighters in Arizona has
shaken me a lot.

Well I made the mistake of taking my 3 angelic (not) children out for dinner, fairly busy restaurant (sort of child friendly). And everything is going really nice, kids not too noisy, husband hasn't fallen asleep, when my darling daughter (you are already acquainted with her personality) receives her dinner, takes a bite and yells loud enough for the next suburb to here us "Oh Cheese and Whiskers", my chicken is shit hot - I said her name in that Motherly tone Im so good at, and she replies, sorry Mummy, Oh "Cheese and Whiskers" my chicken is Godamn hot. Hubby is laughing, my 7 year old son is looking at me as if to say, so what are you going to do Mum. Well I tell my daughter that its not polite to use words like that, they are not nice words - wait for it.... she exclaims even louder with a petulant look on her face, "But Mummy when you were cooking last night, you burnt your hand, hit the oven and yelled Godamn you Bitch Oven"- I proclaimed defeat at that point....
