Happy 4th of July.

Just want to know how our European friends are handling the extreme heat. Hope everyone is able to stay cool!

Oh, Donnamarie, we have been melting! (I blame all those who couldn't be bothered to take global warming seriously myself. Don't they realise thst the Polar Ice Cap has will only be around for another couple of years?!) 

I was at a theatre on Thursday evening in London - and on the hottest ever day in the UK the air conditioning went down! But I guess we must all expect more extremes like this - and use it as a warning to look after our world

Dobnna, the combination of the extreme heat and humidity is what really brings you down. We're not used to this humidity, and people with health issues like my father or my son really have serious problems. We've just returned from a weekend in Hamburg - we were invited to a birthday party there -, our hotel had no air condition, and the the heat is always worse in big cities. So it was a nice weekend, but there's no need to repeat it. And we realize that air condition becomes more important and necessary - we've got no AC at work , and it's nearly impossible to work until 6 pm...

So sorry PAN and Carol. It’s hard enough for a healthy person to handle this extreme heat but anyone who has health issues or the elderly suffer so much more. Just about two weeks ago Alaska was experiencing record breaking temps in the 90s F. They sure as heck don’t have air conditioning to begin with. Portable fans can help a little but they must have sold out so fast ....
Hope you’re getting a bit of relief and the worst has passed. Worst of all is that the ice cap is melting and probably far quicker than scientists anticipated. Scary!

Might be the odd positive, tho. The subsequent tidal waves may hit places in parts of Florida ending in the letters lago.....

LOL PAN!!! We could only hope that Trump would be there when the waves carry that god forsaken place out to sea.

It will happen eventually. Scientists are saying Florida is one of the states that will be under water sooner rather than later. Sadly, if drumpf is still around he'll probably try to turn it into "Trump Underwater Hotel" and all his MAGA morons will run to stay there.

Sad, but true Lizzy he would try to make money off of it. 

The idiot also said it would be great if China stopped trading with us.
