Anyway.  Was this video already posted on the forum when I wasn't looking??  If not, I'll make a new thread for it, but assume that someone may have posted it.

To anyone in the path of Dorian, please be safe and do whatever they tell you to do to ride out the storm.

Way2Old, thought of you as soon as they said this storm will hit the Carolinas. I know you've probably stocked up supplies and are completely prepared, but I still worry. Keep safe and don't take any chances.

All hunkered down and fully electronically charged here. We have rain now, and the wind is picking up a bit, but we're west of the storm's zone so will just get fringe weather. Could be significant, but probably not. But Dorian is doing what Dorian wants, not what the meteorologists say... And if the storm comes too close, I'll just redraw its path on a map with a sharpie to divert it back off the coast.

Lord help us all with that idiot in the White House.

Hey we are having a slow day. How has your Sunday been?

Hi! Just got in. What a beautiful day! As far as I'm concerned it can stay like this forever. Hope everyone is enjoying sunshine and warm temps and fluffy white clouds.

Hi, all. The coast got battered, as you all know, but here we got a day of bad weather and a little flooding. It has been sunny but blistering hot and humid since. Thanks for the well wishes.

I know. Now on the days I'm on soccer practice pick-up, I race to get home before sunset. Which means pretty soon I'll be driving home in the dark.

I don't think we ever will there is no need for it. I think that the odd picture we
get of them every now and then is fine.

After all these years I would like to see a story about their family.  Something more than a photo every now and then.

They keep the children private which is understandablel. I think we will only hear
little anecdotes from George. George and Amal have never given an interview together about their life.

Exactly, as five years comes to an end, I hope to meet the family.  I'm curious, how do you know what George and Amal are planning with their twins?  Didn't Amal talk about her children in her cover story?

Maybe as five years comes to an end, they will do something formal to introduce their family.

I don't   know but from the way it has been since they were born , I don't see them changing that.

I have to agree there is a lot of non sense written about them.  I do hope the nonsense is put to rest and we formally meet George, Amal, and their twins.

They can't put the non sense to rest it sells for the rags so they will never stop.

For me it's a toss-up between Spring and Fall. I really thought we were on our way to a normal autumn cool-down until yesterday, when it was in the high 70s. Today was in the mid 80s. I think we're going backwards!

Heard on the radio today: "Well folks, looks like we're in for a spell of Native-American summer". PC  overkill anyone?

I'm glad it's fall time, however spring is my absolute favorite.

I’ll be politically incorrect I guess and ask the question why is a warm fall considered an ‘Indian’ summer?

Spring is lovely when the grass and trees green up and the late winter chill finally goes bye-bye.

Not necessarily politically incorrect, Donnamarie. A great description of the similar Autumn we're having here - temperatures the same as India - and we're no doubt in for many more thanks to global warming...........!

Last week we had summer temperatures in Germany as well, had hardly any rain over the summer, and the large water barrages in my area which provide drinking water for Northern Germany, are nearly as empty as last year...

We didn't have a real winter with lots of snow and ice and constanf freezing temperatures for 15 years, and whenever the tourist boards here discuss of enlarging our ski areas while at the same time we had hardly been able to go skiing this millennium, I always wonder who can be so unrealistic to believe that this investments will ever pay...

Something positive:
Last week, my cousin and his partner married, making them the first homosexual couple in our family and also our village.
My husband did the civil ceremony. I had never watched him marrying people and he did a very good job (as I had been told many times by couples he had married). He thought a lot about what to say because he said that it's a really tough job when you know every guest so well and are friends with each one.
I had helped my husband to work out his speech and wrote a piece saying that, although we should take it for granted that our society accepts same-sex relations, it hasn't been like that for long. When our parents were born 80 years ago, they had been killed for simply loving each others. When we were born 50 years ago, it was a crime, and even 20 years ago, they hadn't been to legally rent a house together. And now it's just the most natural thing.
When we left the 1,000 years old former emporer's palace wbere the ceremony tookmplace, there were about 70 people waiting, friends, neighbours and collegues. We sang a special song for them, and everybody was just happy for them. Their house was also decorated beautifully by their friends during that time.
On Saturday we had a great party at their home with nearly 100 guests. During their speech , my cousin's husband referred to my / my husband's speech about the history of how our society treats homosexual people and talked aboug his own family. He said that his grandparents (who have already gone) have always accepted him while his own parents and sister broke up with him after he had come out. My cousin's family (which is my family as well), on the contrary, has welcomed him as member of the family, and that's what broke his heart. My aunt always calls him her fourth child, and we all simply love him. Isn't that what counts?

Oh yes, I nearly forgot to mention one thing: They both share the dream of travelling to Australia, and next year they will fulfill that dream. And they invited a friend of us who had organized their whole wedding and lots of surprises for them to come with them. She nearly had a heart attack, and we were sll just happy for them all...

Congratulations to your cousins. May they have a long and happy life together. It sounds like they're off to a great start with such a wonderful family and friends supporting them.

Well, autumn has truly hit the UK this weekend. I've broken out my thick woolly tights.

Lucky you! We're still "enjoying" summer weather, although out west they've had snow! As far as I'm concerned, they can keep it. I'm not ready for that yet. I can't believe it's the end of September! It feels more like June.

Jesse Norman was such a beautiful, mature talent. It surprised me that she was so young. Her voice will be sorely missed.
