PARADISO, Italy--I'm sitting in a comfortable seat, looking out at the foothills of the Italian Alps. High on the hilltops the houses are grand, and below them, small terraced vineyards offer the promise of a leisurely glass of wine and some terrific linguine al vongole.

Not long before, Lake Como had sparkled out the window, and though George Clooney is said to have sold his villa there, it's hard not to go by and imagine him and his Hollywood friends getting the best out of life amid one waterside mansion after another and more glamor than most people experience in a lifetime.

But this is not the view from an airplane at 30,000 feet, and everything I'm looking at is not in miniature far below me. It's right at ground level and right in front of me. This is the Milan, Italy to Zurich, Switzerland train, surely one of the most beautiful routes in Europe, a trip that provides the perfect sampling of mountains, lakes, vineyards, rivers, charming hillside houses, quaint valleys, and so much more.

Lake Como, George Clooney sells goodbye Villa Oleandra

The weekly "OGGI": the villa of Laglio switch to a noble family that deals with textile Brianza. The preliminary contract has already been signed.

Well Robert Pattison has "supposedly" bought in the area so George has a new famous neighbour.

George Clooney has a new neighbor. The Hollywood actor, who a few days ago said goodbye to Elisabetta Canalis, Italian does not renounce his home on Lake Como where, tells News, bought the house, Robert Pattinson, actor made famous by the Twilight saga. A few days of that new, denied that George was going to sell the house....

Pattinson has bought one there? Slowly it's going to look like a mini Hollywood... Is not there more places in the world?

This looks like a new article but it must be old because the in the very last sentence he says:

"L' ex velina sarda, ora che riveste il ruolo ufficiale di Lady Clooney, ha conquistato la sua fetta di notorietà anche oltreoceano, dove Robert la può ammirare, in segreto."

The 2010 article is full of inaccuracies. I understand Oceans 12 villa scenes were filmed at Villa Erba in Cernobbio, not George's villa. Not sure how or why these "sold the villa" stories get started.....

Lake Como, Good Bathroom… patchy

The shores of Lake Como are bad, say Malino, but certainly not rewarded for the quality you see. Of 30 coastal resorts of Lake Como, are 12, almost half those who received the black flag, the very prestigious award given by the Schooner Lakes Legambiente, on Saturday presented the results of a week of controls on the two branches of the lake.
The note was assigned to the worst town of Dongo. Regarding water quality, even for the schooner on Lake Como, the situation has improved since last year. Eight, however, the sites with water polluted or heavily polluted, including Cernobbio and Menaggio.
Question arises: is also why George Clooney leaked the idea to sell his dream house?

I don't know the other Villa's name, but you are correct that O12 was not filmed at George's Villa.

Also, the rumors started last year about selling saying that he and EC were looking for other locations together. LOL!
