Amal Clooney's Next Case: act as Co-Counsel for Khadija Ismayilova before European Court of Human Rights

I continue to be impressed with the way Amal handles herself in public situations. I know we shouldn't expect any less of her because of her status as a successful international human rights lawyer. But because I'm paying closer attention to her I find her so poised, articulate and measured in her interviews. She is incredibly smart and spot-on in her handling of legal issues. She really does her homework. At least it seems that way to me.

She has a smart way of getting back to her topic without being too obvious. I also like how she skirts around the 'publicity' her cases get, and pointed out that most of the work is done outside of the public eye, away from the media.

that's something I had mentioned here a few times. When you act as a human rights lawyer, you have to work on a diplomatic level because no government wants to loose face.
Their decisions are based on laws - no matter for which reason they were installed. And they have reasons for their decisions. 

Nobody likes to be told: "You're absolutely wrong about that and have to change that!" , especially no governments. This just won't work. So you have to find a way to  succeed without affrontong the opponent government. And that includes a lot of lobbyism and talking to put up as much pressure and get as much support as possible...

So Amal did a TV and a radio interview with the BBC concerning this case? I had seen it but suggested it's the same interview. I should have listened to it before...
But I found both interviews really interesting. Thanks for posting which gave me the chance to check it!

I just came across the BBC World Service one earlier today. Very important that she's managed to do that because they will all get coverage in both Azerbaijan and everywhere else in the world........

Wonder when in May the case is going to be heard in the European Court of Justice......busy time....
