George Clooney expected to film this summer in Vancouver

Never been to Vancouver ----I've heard it is beautiful.

George Clooney, Hugh Laurie heading to Vancouver in August for Brad Bird’s TomorrowlandMarch 26, 2013. 4:08 pm

Not a lot of info about director Brad Bird’s new movie Tomorrowland, except that it films from August until the year’s end in Vancouver.

Oh yeah, and George Clooney is one of the stars. Hugh Laurie is the only other name attached so far. It’s a Disney movie, so figure that there’s a tie-in to the old theme park ride.

Brad Bird is the Pixar veteran (The Incredibles, Ratatouille) who made the jump to live-action with Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. That globe-trotting Tom Cruise hit was partly filmed in Vancouver, which must have played a part in why Bird is bringing his next movie here.

Vancouver-based special effect wizard Mike Vezina (The A-Team, 2012) is also attached, so expect something to blow up real good.

Road trip........

Now somewhere I read a story about a huge set being built in the Okenagon Valley in BC for this - a bit of a stretch from Vancouver I think!

Even though filming is starting in August he might not be needed then. The story line suggests that he isn't in all the scenes so maybe he will go later.

Yep, I think so too. He would need Como time to edit his own film - can't believe that wouldn't be part of contract negotiations - and when does August:Osage Country come out?
