I agree as well and didn't bother to read this garbage....I don't have time to waste reading tripe, hyped up to sound interesting, just because the masses are easily led by what they're told is good. I'd much rather read something worth my time and effort.
It sounds like a racy, badly written Harlequin Romance...never read any of those either.

Re: LAINEY GOSSIP: George is basically Christian Grey from the Book 50 Shades of Grey
Sounds really interesting book and I have definately added it to my "to read list.
Please forgive me posting here all this… I don’t remember where I read what exactly so..
I’ve surfed through some posts. After being away from internet for such a long time (for modern time people it is) I’m posting like there is no tomorrow ...
tanorexia or pale (tanning bed or tan spray), marrying or not, selling the house or not? People visiting Como: right people or wrong people? Outfits and shoes: grandpa or grandma style or too teenager? Plastic surgery? I need to catch up and comment on all these…
Tanning industry is big. I say it looks unnatural if a blond has very deep dark tan. Gives an impression either tan or the hair is fake or in the worse case both. And yes I’am biased here with the obvious skin type containing freckles around the nose and cheeks (“Contrary to popular wisdom, a spray tan isn’t less dangerous than exposing yourself to ultraviolet rays. In fact, it might actually be worse. A panel of experts from the fields of dermatology, toxicology, and pulmonary medicine told ABC News that dihydroxyacetone (or DHA), the active chemical used in spray tans, can cause genetic mutation and DNA damage. While none of the studies they reviewed involved human subjects, several reported altered genes in multiple types of DHA-treated cells and organisms.”)
Marrying? No comments. Also I do not have suggestion for the wedding cake topping but for the wedding place I do: Alcatzar or some prison island like Changoo or Devils’s.
Selling the house – absolutely not! Value will go up up up because there are just certain amount of lake houses around just any lake and Como has been “the place” for hundreds of years not just now. This is not a time to sell, if ever. Actually it is quite opposite, now is a good time to buy properties in Europe.
Who should visit Lago di Como? Anyone who can truly appreciate the scenery.
Outfits and shoes – fashion or trend or style. So hard, I’m not into fashion myself that much. What I do not like is fat, tattoos, crocks on adults, waist bags, socks on sandals… and Luis Vuitton purses/bags/clutches. So I think anything other looks okay.
Plastic surgery – If it doesn’t change the way you look. If it only makes you look younger then it is ok. My friend said it really right to the point after having a baby and feeding him, ‘my breast have served the purpose and now they are like two fox noses looking down but who cares` exactly how I see it too.

I have to take it back - so many bad reviews for this book and I am beginning to believe in them so maybe I skip it.

Re: LAINEY GOSSIP: George is basically Christian Grey from the Book 50 Shades of Grey
Wasn't sure if I should put this here or on another thread but it pertains to casting does anyone who has read it see her playing the role?:
Fifty Shades Of Grey Movie: Shailene Woodley Favourite For Lead Role
The 20-year-old actress, Shailene Woodley, best known for staring alongside George Clooney in The Descendents, has caught the eye of the British writer E.L. James to take on the role of Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie.
Woodley, who received a Golden Globe nod for her performance alongside Clooney, was first touted for the role in The Hollywood Reporter who said, "Shailene Woodley demonstrated her acting chops in the Oscar-nominated The Descendants and is said to have caught the eye of Fifty Shades of Grey author EL James." Jennifer Lawrence is also in line to take on the sought-after roll too, having made a huge impression as the lead in The Hunger Games trilogy. Emma Watson was also strongly linked to the role but recently dismissed rumours that she has been approached to play the lead role of Ana Steele. Youngsters Lucy Hale and Ashley Benson have also been linked to the coveted part, whilst screen veteran Angelina Jolie has apparently voiced her desire to take on the lead role - although her age might rule her out of contention.
Since being published last year, the notoriously raunchy Fifty Shades Of Grey has now sold more than 5.3 million copies to British readers alone, making it the UK's biggest-selling book of all time. The film adaptation will begin as soon as the cast has been chosen.

Re: LAINEY GOSSIP: George is basically Christian Grey from the Book 50 Shades of Grey
I read all three as well. I now tell people to stop by page 140 of the first book. It's like Watching said on the "George crush" thread about the George/Stacy relationship being like a car crash you can't look away from. By page 140 of Fifty Shades it becomes the same thing. George absolutely couldn't play Christian unless they have enough sequels to where Ana and Christian are grandparents. I would pick Ian Somerhalder to play Christian and Mila Kunis for Ana. I'm not crazy about her, but she just looks the part to me. In the book Ana is beautiful, but doesn't realize it and men are very attracted to her. IMO Shailene doesn't have that type beauty.

Damn, was reading the comments about how awful this book is / was / waste of time that I actually dozed off.
No offense to the posters. Guess I didn't get enough sleep or I ate too much at lunch or it's this damn heat. I've got the air conditioner on but the heat coming off the window and wall where my chair is located has made me sleepy.
Guess I'll pass on the book(s) too!

I'm in the Los Angeles area and we're going thru another heat wave this week. In the 90's most of the week.
As an FYI - Burbank (which is near Studio City where George lives) (not near me) has the following 5 day temperature forecast:
Mon 92 33 Celsius
Tue 93 33.8 Celsius
Wed 98 36.6 Celsius
Thu 87 30.5 Celsius
Fri 84 28.8 Celsius
Seems we'll get a break next weekend. So much for pulling out the winter weight sweaters. Got to wear one on Friday and then poof! the heat was back!

After all this is nr.1 at new york times best seller.
I thought the author was a man, but it isn´t. I am on page 23. And so far nothing has happened, obviously it is not high literature. You can read it while watching TV.

Matt Bomer is very nice but it is hard to imagine a Christian to interpret Grey! A woman would stop dreaming

I read the whole damned 3 books just to get to the end. It took me almost 2 months to read the 3rd book because by then it was so boring and repetitious. PM me if you want to know how it all ends!

Exactly Premiere, I thought the last book was the most boring and basically skipped most of the middle just to find out how the story finished.

My problem with it was that not only was it poorly written, but also it wasn't even porn. It's a romance novel masquerading as erotica.

Re: LAINEY GOSSIP: George is basically Christian Grey from the Book 50 Shades of Grey
Agree completely. Didn't want to offend anyone who was a Harlequin Romance fan. My older sis loves Harlequins and the romance genre and the stuff I've seen in some of her books is even more hardcore (related to 50 Shades) and, ironically, better written too. Interestingly enough, Sis didn't like 50 Shades.
Frankly, I think part of the reason that book became so popular is because certain celebs started talking about it. Didn't Cindy C talk about what a great book it was followed shortly by Stacy mentioning she'd taken it to Como? I think several of our ubiquitous reality "stars" mentioned how "great" the book was, Ellen spoofed it and other D-lister types all piled on. The author was lucky because that free PR overtook the fact that it was a horrible book (IMO),

oopsy, clarification, didn't mean to suggest that I'm giving the characters of 50 shades of Grey a run for their money!, no strange fetishes in this house (that I'm aware of), just that I'd rather be doing it than reading about it, that sounds crude, apologies.
Lucky you Miz, a dearth of inventive men sounds like a lot of fun and a good way to pass the time!!

The books are definitely not a literary masterpiece but if we sold so many and if they were successful there is a reason, wealth, love, sex and selfless dedication are qualities absolutely not be found in a man. Those of you who found his life a Christian Grey I envy you! for me it is utopia.

There have to be better books like this that are well written. If you haven't wasted your money on this set of books yet, don't! Maybe we should have people suggest alternatives that would provide us all with the same "entertainment" value (-:

Re: LAINEY GOSSIP: George is basically Christian Grey from the Book 50 Shades of Grey
Okay, I shall start the first chapter.....
The night was so cold there was frost gathering on the trees outside my window, the chill in the air was palpable. I look over to the glowing fire, glad that at least tonight I would be warm. I turn to see him standing in the doorway, as he walks towards me with that lopsided grin, slowly unbuttoning his shirt, my heart skips a beat, my breath catches in my throat. He leans over the chair and kisses me so hard my lips feel bruised, he looks towards his bed, smiles......
Hope you enjoy the laugh at my expense ladies, I copied the above paragraph from an essay I had written in Year 9 over 20 years ago - I got a B- (was expecting a C at best), my older sister who helped me write some of it was hoping for an A+ - I think she plagiarised every Mills and Boon book in her bedroom.

Re: LAINEY GOSSIP: George is basically Christian Grey from the Book 50 Shades of Grey

And says...with a snarl...."I see you didn't iron the sheets....again !"

Therminis you're already in bed with George in the first lines of the first chapter ............. how quickly! I understand you!
