George not bothered about turning 50!

GEORGE Clooney doesn’t seem to be too bothered about his upcoming 50th birthday!

The Hollywood heartthrob reaches the landmark age on May 6 but seems intent on not celebrating.

“George either has a huge practical joke planned on everyone or he really is have a crisis about turning 50,” says a source close to the actor.

“He’s told everyone he doesn’t want to do anything or for them to send gifts. He’s intent on spending it alone because he says he’s too old for birthdays.”

It does sound unlike him to be doing nothing at all.

i think this means we can be sure he won't be doing a grand series of parties a la kim Kardashian did for her 30th. This shouldn't come as news to fans because he's never been one to do a massive public event for his birthday.

I'll bet he'll be partying the night away with his closest friends and no pap shots.

Maybe everybody turned down Eli's invitation to HER big party for George and he felt sorry for her, so he'll just spend the evening with her. NOT!!!!

Thanks for the reminder. I bet this is to let everyone know that article was false. Maybe he and Stan have been bugged by that from paps and gossip sites and/or People Mag wanting an exclusive. I think "close friend" is probably Stan.

Truthfully it's hard for me to believe she ever made the BD party comment to a reporter, she's not stupid and would know that her man wouldn't like public comment made about his personal life.

Unless, it's over or at the time coming to an end, and she had nothing to lose.

I think he will party hearty but it will not be made public. He is a party animal and I can't see he or his buddies letting this event pass by. Sure would like to be a fly on the wall for this celebration.

But, she's made other comments that even if she didn't give his name, it was implied it was George. Those comments didn't seem to bother her. Unless, those were the beginning of the end. Who knows?

I think it's interesting that the friends says he wants to spend it alone. Not he wants to spend it with his girlfriend pretty clear signal being sent. I think he will hang with the boys and I doubt Eli will be invited but then i don't think she has actually been around for awhile!

Are these all the hints we've been expecting all year? Or will she turn up at Como? Why can't he just say it one way or another, yes I know it's none of are business, but it's so unfair. I'm joking!

He has a good life and he knows it. He's accomplished more than many others could hope for so I don't think he's having any mid-life crisis about it. Sure, there may be some aspirations for which he's still striving -- I doubt he'll turn down a best director Oscar :-) -- but I also doubt he's stressing about it or much of anything other than making sure he puts out work product of which he can be proud.

So whether he's officially celebrating or not -- I do wish him a very happy day!

Lake Como has been synonomous with George Clooney in the last few years and that is not about to change as he will be celebrating his 50th birthday at Villa Oleandrea on the shores of Lake Como this Friday (6th May).

Linda Travella has been selling property on Lake Como for almost 25 years, well before it was discovered by Clooney!

"The most important point for clients to realise is that to enjoy a property on Lake Como you do not have to spend millions" says Linda.

Property in Laglio itself has become expensive since Clooney purchased and Linda suggests buying in other parts of the lake for better value.

Just looked on justspotted.com and theres a sighting for Gee @ Balboa Island Newport Beach CA, any ideas ladies?? Could this be where the "partys" at??

Well it's a very exclusive, wealthy neighborhood, so maybe he's just visiting, he does like the water and boats, plenty of that there, although I don't think there's any private beaches. NO problem for GC since you never see him on sand, but if betta gotta show my ass off buns is around, she's outta luck for beach photo op.

I had noticed that too Lucy that you don't see Gee actually on the beach sunbathing etc. Do you think he has an adversion to sand? I do, yukky stuff!!

Maybe it's just something else he had to give up with fame. To many lens etc. focused on him while laying on sand, to much exposure? He has said he misses being able to go to live sporting events, doesn't want the game to become about him? Makes me wonder about all those stars at court-side Laker games, they seem to go often with not much ado about it.

I suspect you're right, Lucy. That's sad but he does make a ridiculous amount of money so it's all part of the business of Hollywood. No such thing as free money.

If I was his friend I would totally play a prank on him for his 50th.

Why didnt George say anything to his fans on his landmark birthday? Maybe even a patronizing 'thanks folks, keep up the good work' would do! I'm sure there were a lot of people dying to wish him and stuff! I wanted to build this huge shout-out for him on twitter actually (with millions of fans *a girl can wish*)...but well, I got lazy!

Clooneys six, I don't think you'll ever see George on Twitter. He would NEVER disclose what he does 24/7 like some of the other starved for attention twits. Hey, if we don't hear from him now, why would anyone think a twitter account would survive? I think the only time there is major interaction with his fans is on his red carpets for premieres, etc. And we know there hasn't been much of that.

That's true,,,maybe if George started going, like these others, it wouldn't be such a big deal either....

On Hollyscoop.com, I've just been looking at Gee's profile, and they have a picture of him & Liz walking down a crowded street marked 6th May. I can't do the techy stuff! but can anyone get this picture so we can all share?? Don't know how recent it is?? I'm sure you ladies will know!!

It's a stock image they used because they don't have any pictures taken of the story to go with the story. I think, judging by what she's wearing, it's from the Armani fashion show last summer.

I agree with you on the twitter thing mel, but George is witty, so he can actually make it special..set the standards, that sort of thing Anyways, I dont care if he's constantly talking to fans or if he ever does....just answer the crucial questions like 'hows the 50th honey?' and we'll pick em up right off the internet!!!

@fluffy, I'd spend so much time rubbernecking I wouldn't be able to enjoy the food, which I'd bet you doesn't come cheap!

George wouldn't do twitter especially since he seems to have even stopped doing interviews. I would like him to do some interviews they can be funny and witty and surely by now he has some new stories!

Probably none he can tell in public though Dex!!!!
