Hen, you're lucky that you're getting rain. Dry as a bone here on East Coast - everything is just covered with pollen. Not even worth getting car washed, within 24 hrs. will look same as before. Was putting out trash last night and felt a few drops, thought great, at last, finally. Ha, that was it, nothing at all. Damn.
Re: SK, she did what she had to do to make her mark. Yeah, she displayed her assets to the world, but then so do some of those "A list" personalities we think so highly of. As was stated, she wasn't a hooker or a pron star, or even a stripper. She played at wrestling, did her stint on DWTS, dabbled at acting, did some modeling. She tried to make her mark in the ways open to her. That she caught George's eye was a plus for her and just as all the other GF's did, she's using it to her advantage. Nothing wrong with that, is there? She would be really stupid if she just sat back and said "Here I go on that great ride around the world, as George's girlfriend. Oh what fun" No, she's taking whatever jobs are offered and keeping her fingers crossed that she'll still get offers when her ride is over. I'm not her fan, but I think she is traveling a road at least as well traveled as the one the A listers travel with their hot, nude love scenes in the movies today. They have had more nude shots in one movie that Stacy has ever posed for. Nobody condemns them now, do they?

For me, my concern is that she is getting treated with NO respect here. Like her, love her, hate her, think she is bland - whatever. But how she is being spoken about is crossing a line. For me, Stacy has never worked in the sex trade, so to me, that's a pretty good line in the sand not to call her a w hore who should be available to all who want a shot at her. And as stated above, even if if she had worked in that industry, she still deserves to be treated as a human being not a animal (which seems to be where the comments are going to recently).

Krista worked in the industry. If you saw her on the street would you spit in her face, speak degradingly of her to those around you and act like she was somehow less than you just because of her time in the sex industry? If not, why is it ok to speak that way about Stacy on the internet just because she is the current?

I get bitchy, snarky, funny comments. We have all made them. But sexually degrading comments are out of line.

Also, a job in the sex industry doesn't make someone a second class citizen which is being implied here. You might never do it, you kmight never want to live that life but it is someone's else choice/lack of option so we should try to rein in the judgement.

Firstly, ALL celebrities (or wannabe ones) do shots like this. Look at any men's magazine (and I mean GQ or Esquire, not porn mags) and you'll see starlets in various states of undress selling themselves. Is that a problem? IMO yes, but that's a problem with society in general and not one we can fix here on this forum.

Secondly everyone should get the same level of respect. I don't believe that some people are somehow better than others because of the work they do. There was the same discussion when George dated Sarah Larson when some people felt that she was 'lowly' because she was only a cocktail waitress. Even if she were a street walker, she's entitled to good manners and respect on this board.

As far as I'm concerned, when it comes to human beings, there is no second class.

Finally, there are rules to posting on this forum. One of them being to hold off on the name calling unless they have legal proof. If PhysMajor can legally prove that Stacy Keibler is indeed a hooker and will be passed around over dinner then she can go ahead and post it. Until then she can keep it to herself. This is a public forum and I have no interest in collecting legal letters from either George or Stacy.

I for one, am not an SK fan, I've put that out there already. Personally, I think GF will do fine at this event - as been said, she's seems to be very obedient, and if she stands there, smiles, and bobs her head once in a while, like at the Oscars, she'll do great. This event doesn't even have a red carpet (does it??) From what I've seen on TV, it's very casual - like a roast (not the kind you eat ).

Having said that, I think it's very easy to "label" someone based on what they've "put out there", whether or not it's true. And let's face it - some here say that all she's done is pictures, that she's never worked in the sex trade.....we honestly don't have any proof of that either, do we?

The problem is, (and this goes for anyone doing anything for any kind of self-promo) - if it looks like a duck, and it quacks like a duck, people are going to assume that it's ......a duck.

C-SPAN's coverage (of the dinner last year) included celebrity arrivals, the awards presentations, scholarships, and the after dinner speeches.
We should ask the person who posted earlier (EEOSandy, maybe?) that they've watched it on C-Span for years.

In the first post it comes across as you believe it would be ok and reasonable dinner conversation for fellow guests at the dinner to speak about her in crude and demeaning terms and that she is nothing but a sex object. But in a later post, you grasp the damage and scars that are inflicted through having to endure situations where they are exploited and harmed. I am just confounded and alarmed by so many of the comment. We live in a global community that still tries to take advantage of and hurt people in vulnerable environments who cannot protect themselves. The implication that they are not worthy of dignity or protection from exploitation just highlights how much work and education needs to be done in this field within society as a whole.

Can you imagine this hypothetical scene, where your daughter is adamant about doing George, believing that that will progress her career, and with her skills she could turn it around, "using it" to her "advantage"... “Obama doesn’t do that,” Ted Johnson, deputy editor at Variety, told POLITICO. “He makes a point of staying at a hotel. He’s at the fundraiser, he gives face time to a number of donors, but then he leaves. He’s usually back at his hotel by 9:30 p.m. or 10 p.m.”

Forget George Clooney and Reese Witherspoon. The White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner guest destined to soak up the most attention will most likely be . . . Lindsay Lohan.

Media Bistro’s Fishbowl DC reports that Greta Van Susteren of Fox News and her husband, John Coale, are bringing Lohan to the annual celeb-political event at the Washington Hilton on Saturday. Which means the off-probation actress will probably be hitting the D.C. party scene Friday and Saturday nights.

What will she wear to the dinner — something flashy, or more in line with her courtroom-chic apparel? Will she go out of her way to be on her best, good-girl behavior in light of her recent troubles? Will Capitol Hill figures be stumbling over themselves to get a picture with her, or will creating such photographic evidence be deemed politically risky? (Uh, I’m thinking the former.) Is the writer of President Obama’s speech furiously figuring out how to insert a Lohan joke?

Truly there’s a lot to ponder here. Got a question you’d love for me to ask Lohan if I am able to corral her at Saturday’s event? And I do mean a relatively serious one, you guys. I’m not going to ask if she still has the necklace or if she can give me directions to the morgue.

Lindsay Lohan is going to the White House Correspondents Dinner. Seriously.

Can everyone just STOP with the Lindsay Lohan stuff? I mean, obviously, I feel like a good portion of my day is spent writing variations on the word “crack” and I sort of enjoy that, but that’s not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about the whitewashing of a crackhead. I’m talking about the social legitimization of an out-of-control addict who has no business being out in the world, doing drugs and drinking and driving, stealing jewelry, and getting into unprovoked bar fights. If the Cracken wasn’t an actress, people would have already dismissed her as a criminal and drug addict.

So Lindsay’s latest coup is scoring an invite to the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, which is this weekend. Quite honestly, this offends me more than the Elizabeth Taylor bio-pic. At least with the Lifetime movie, it felt like the cracktastrophe was contained and manageable – I mean, of course it was going to be a disaster. How could it not be? But the Correspondents’ Dinner? The President of the United States will be there. And the First Lady. And probably the Vice President and dozens of the most influential congressmen, plus the crème de la crème of the Washington press corps. And you’re going to unless a D-list crackhead into the event? Dude. She’s totally going to flash her firecrotch at POTUS. And she’s going to ask Biden if he wants a bump in the bathroom.

According to the Washington outlets, Greta Van Susteren, that old stunt-queen, was the one to invite LL. That’s not all – LL is going to bring her lawyer, Shawn Holley, and the illustrious STEVE HONIG (who I still think is just Dina dressed up as a drag king). In previous years, Greta has brought some of the more noteworthy famewhore guests – like Kim Kardashian in 2010. You know what? I’ll say it. I’d much rather Kim Kardashian get another invite, if I have to choose between Kim and the Cracken. Of course, “neither” would probably be the best option.

Other celebrities expected to attend: Reese Witherspoon, George Clooney and Stacy Keibler, and maybe Kate Hudson too. The Cracken doesn’t even belong in THAT group.

Can everyone just STOP with the Lindsay Lohan stuff? I mean, obviously, I feel like a good portion of my day is spent writing variations on the word “crack” and I sort of enjoy that, but that’s not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about the whitewashing of a crackhead. I’m talking about the social legitimization of an out-of-control addict who has no business being out in the world, doing drugs and drinking and driving, stealing jewelry, and getting into unprovoked bar fights. If the Cracken wasn’t an actress, people would have already dismissed her as a criminal and drug addict.

So Lindsay’s latest coup is scoring an invite to the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, which is this weekend. Quite honestly, this offends me more than the Elizabeth Taylor bio-pic. At least with the Lifetime movie, it felt like the cracktastrophe was contained and manageable – I mean, of course it was going to be a disaster. How could it not be? But the Correspondents’ Dinner? The President of the United States will be there. And the First Lady. And probably the Vice President and dozens of the most influential congressmen, plus the crème de la crème of the Washington press corps. And you’re going to unless a D-list crackhead into the event? Dude. She’s totally going to flash her firecrotch at POTUS. And she’s going to ask Biden if he wants a bump in the bathroom.

According to the Washington outlets, Greta Van Susteren, that old stunt-queen, was the one to invite LL. That’s not all – LL is going to bring her lawyer, Shawn Holley, and the illustrious STEVE HONIG (who I still think is just Dina dressed up as a drag king). In previous years, Greta has brought some of the more noteworthy famewhore guests – like Kim Kardashian in 2010. You know what? I’ll say it. I’d much rather Kim Kardashian get another invite, if I have to choose between Kim and the Cracken. Of course, “neither” would probably be the best option.

Other celebrities expected to attend: Reese Witherspoon, George Clooney and Stacy Keibler, and maybe Kate Hudson too. The Cracken doesn’t even belong in THAT group.

Anyways... about the "judgements"... Look everywhere... they are there!!! Our lives are made of them... our days, our times... Every George Clooney Board, and this one too, is filled with them... so which "judgement" are you going to "judge"??

Some good "judgements" we like to keep, as compliments, and mark GREEN, some bad ones, we like to trash and call them a "measure", a "mote" in someone's eye, a "beam"?? Our world sure is made of a million "judgements" and we might just about need ALL of them, because we can never really tell, which ones were used, to FINALLY make those VITAL RIGHT decision/s FROM them...

I for one don't like to judge others. According to God we all
come short from His Glory, and he judges all with the same ruler.

But, I dislike women who have absolutely no self respect or discipline.
(I feel offended just being in the same room with them). Some people
live their life in good standards. Deprive themselves of so many vanities to be a good example to our youngsters (society). So, why should we all be looked the same and put on the same stage as those that don't give a rats ass(EXCUSE MY LANGUAGE) about values.

Elizabeth Taylor lived life her way and was a great actress, she did so much for aids. Not happy that out of all the great young actresses, LL gets the job! She has been a hot mess for years, anyone else pulled some of the stuff she has over the years, would of spent time in jail, not out free to jet all over the world to attend events and party. Yes I hope she does recover and working will help, but if anyone in Hollywood thinks they can whitewash her with getting her invited to an event like this one, forget it we are not the dumb, everyone knows what she has gotten away with. How many years did it take her to suck it up and finish her probation and community service!! Almost finished with my rant for the day, use to work/volunteer for juvenile services, it's not easy seeing young people locked up in a cell or in handcuffs, but they were under age and not an adult making bad choices and getting chance after chance, year after year. OK I'm done.

Yes, Washington not so happy to have all these Hollywood celebrities descending into town for what used to be strictly a media-political event. It seems now that all celebrities want to come and according to The Reliable Source “Some guests are quite aggressive in asking for invites, and their people will sort of shop them around to various hosting news organizations,” said Mason, a national talk show host on SiriusXM radio.

Some showbiz folks even contact the WHCA directly seeking tickets– as well as stating their particular demands for transportation, hotels, entourage, etc. “That’s always a good laugh,” Mason said. I guess LL did her homework and got a last minute invite because she is still not listed as an attendee as the list was printed a few days ago.

I believe someone asked what channel the Dinner would be on. It is on both CNN and MSNBC. It starts at 9:30 pm, Eastern Time. Don't know how that helps non US friends. Trying to decide if it'll be worth recording it. Don't imagine George is going to be doing anything but eating and chatting with tablemates. If he's the butt of a joke or two, we'll hear about it soon enough and we know they'll be pictures.
