But seriously, what in heck makes people do stuff like this? It isn't art. It isn't even decoration.
I waiting for the day when one 'artist' decides to recreate an entire set of famous artworks using George Clooney. I predict these artworks will be truly hideous.

I have held off commenting on this mural thing because I couldn't find the right words. I still don't have the right words (go figure and when has that stopped me in the past???), but I'm kind of offended by it. Maybe his intentions were good, but I think it fails as an "homage" to George.

It's a famous artwork by Blake and all this guy's done is replace the painting's head with George's. It's tasteless, yes, but offensive?

From current movie review
In this YouTube video Rob Dorgan is interviewing Mark Schmidt who has created a mural dedicated to “God’s Gift to Woman” (gag me), namely George Clooney.
As many Clooney swooners know, George has been seen around Cincinnati shooting his new film The Ides of March. This duo is hamming it up about 50 yards from the Memorial Hall where the movie is mainly being filmed, according to this YouTube duo. Schmidt is seen standing on a forklift to point out the 33 marble tiles pieced together to create a naked George reaching out to touch God.
Why did they do this? What of the second commandment given by the Almighty, “Thou shalt not make thee any graven image.” And hey, if that isn’t fun enough, artisan Schmidt assures the viewers that, “George is more important than God right now because George is in a movie.” But not to worry!! This video assures God if he gets a contract to be in a movie George would be out of the picture! ”Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”~God
