Re: The Monuments Men soundtrack
So the song in the trailer is Shawn Lee's Ping Pong Orchestra "Kiss The Sky."
Love it! If that's an indication of what may be on the soundtrack, it'll be great.

Found at LesFrenchies. Didn't know if I should put it here or at Music Can, but decided here as it's the music that is featured in the trailer. I really like it! Haunting...

It sounds James Bondish when not in a trailer.

Re: The Monuments Men soundtrack
Thanks Melbert for that. I love that song too. It kind of gets right into your head.
I'm always amazed when people do movies and pick the music. Sometimes it is so perfect it matched straight the feelings they want to show.
I really like to know how they choose the music. I mean is there a guy who sees the movie first and recommend some songs or people like George and Grant must know so many songs that it comes straight in they head what they like to choose?

Keine Ahnung!
I only heard the trailer song, so remains be seen what the film score is like...
I'm guessing there will be variety. Eclectic.. Different genres.
He'll dig up some gems...Maybe jazz, classical too.
Here is a link of WWII films & their soundtracks.
I'd be curious to see how MM fares by comparison....

Re: The Monuments Men soundtrack
You're welcome but it's 10 years old.
Inglorious Basterds & several other films have been released since...So, not updated.
You've got me intrigued though...

The Monuments Men soundtrack
I'm inrigued to compare other WWII soundtracks to Monuments Men.it's me wrote:The site?

See, I believe this will be one of George's finest works yet.
He's so determined to produce quality. Has mastered his craftsmanship as a director.
Almost...The perennial perfectionist.
He researched it extensively for a long time.
The cast is superb. The theme & storyline exceptionally interesting & thought provoking.
So, I believe when it comes to the music, George will have selected some excellent pieces for the film soundtrack. Who knows, maybe even an original score? Something as memorable as "Bridge on the River Kwai?"
The link I gave above covers WWII soundtracks until 2003.
There have been several more films since then, including:
The Good German (ok, post-war)
The White Countess
Letters to Iwo Jima
Atonement,
Lust, Caution,
Australia
Valkyrie
Inglorious Basterds
The King's Speech
Red Tails
Emperor
A website for the film? Isn't that what the distributor should do? Include the trailer?
