Best in Category wrote:Ok, I have no idea what you are talking about myriad of aliases, different identities. I have only one and it is this BIC (I chose for this forum) I haven´t seen your picture, but many of mine has been here (not old but resent ones), even my dog´s. I really do stand behind what I write.
In my group of friends I´m not even the biggest Glooney fan But because I like to write I`m the one here, maybe.
Other reason could be, that I´m home a lot. A single mom (most of my friends are still single with no kids) , who´s only and main priority is the child.
Yes, I saw your pictures and you are beautiful!

Have to agree with Fava. I think it's his age as well, sadly. Corporations aim most of their ads toward 15-34 year old men. Why, I don't get as most of the developing world is getting older. And, 7 years as the face of a company is a long time. Most endorsements don't last that long!
Seems like George is hot in China and Japan so doubt he'll have a hard time finding something new!

After 7 years, maybe they just want to change the image and renew itself and perhaps save by choosing someone less famous!

Re: Nespresso Set to Drop Hollywood Star George Clooney
If you think George ever had a clean family-friendly image, then I want whatever you're smoking!Dior wrote:Not that kind of clean image family people like to look up to as a good example.
His public image, since the day he made his first appearance as Doug Ross on ER, drunk and requiring an IV to get him sober is of the amiable playboy; the man men want to be and the bad boy women want to tame.
Not one of his girlfriends in the past decade has had a background that reflects well on him.
The porn actress was Krista. Lisa Snowdon was a lingerie model and when it comes to her collection of nude and near-nude pictures, I think only Elisabetta can rival her portfolio. Sarah Larson was associated (by rumour only) with being an escort and had dubious pictures of herself showing all she had to the camera and I don't mean in the show-nothing way that Stacy, Elisabetta or Lisa Snowdon have done, I mean in the you-can-see-it-all-if-you-look way. Elisabetta, as we all know, was the one who was publicly associated with prostitution and cocaine (again, only by inference but that's enough to damage reputuation) and of course has apparently offended many by portraying a topless nun in a silly film.
All the above is PUBLICLY known information and hasn't hurt his image or affected his deal with Nestle in the past. The slurs you're referring to are insinuations made by certain posters on George Clooney fan sites and aren't publicly known outside of this very small circle.
Stacy has never been a stripper and if I've understood rightly the WWE is not offensive entertainment in the US? It's broadcast at 8pm and also in the mornings too and it's demographics seem to be aimed at young teens and upwards.
If the publicly known 'problems' with his girlfriends hasn't caused an issue with his image, then the nonsense you're spewing that hasn't gone further than a few crazed posts on various websites certainly won't.
Agreed, but he's doing the tequila thing to pay off his satellite rather than for monetary gain.fava wrote: I also have a very hard time believing that the tequila business--given that it's a niche brand and he has 2 partners--will be anywhere near as good financially to him as this endoresement deal was.
That does seem possible. Plus, after all this time, they may want to change their strategy and George is no longer the best fit for them.OofOof wrote: Have to agree with Fava. I think it's his age as well, sadly.
It has been a very long time. I know they re-newed his agreement with them a couple of years ago so I think it's a question of end of contract, change of direction, end of relationship.OofOof wrote: And, 7 years as the face of a company is a long time. Most endorsements don't last that long!
I think I may be the only one here who thought that the recent adverts (in heaven) were just a little bit tacky?
Yep, he has plenty of other endorsement deals and he can always pick up more. Dammit! If I had a spare million or two, I'd hire him for our resorts!OofOof wrote:Seems like George is hot in China and Japan so doubt he'll have a hard time finding something new!

Re: Nespresso Set to Drop Hollywood Star George Clooney
Katiedot, I agree with everything you said but not sure anyone would consider WWE family entertainment since they started to add the women to it. Ask Linda McMahon who had a lot of explaining about that particular part, when she ran twice for the US Congress.
Also, Krista's porn well is really the Cinemax Emmanuelle series and yeah I guess- but soft porn.
I did think George's age may have had something to do with this, but coffee generally skews older- so not so sure. I know everyone hears men 18-34 but really it has changed a lot in the US at least. With definitely the sweet spot being 25-49 both men and women now.
Just think they decided to go in a different direction, not sure with the same interchangeable woman that he has been with the last seven years would make a difference. He has promoted all the girls, somewhat, except maybe Krista.
Now he may not be considered as hot for spokesman purposes oversees. His Q rating, that happens and probably has more to do with he hasn't been in a Ocean's type blockbuster film in a while.

Re: Nespresso Set to Drop Hollywood Star George Clooney
Yeah, looking at their stats, I think they're targeting males aged 12 - 34 although they claim 40% of their site traffic is from women, so not so much family-friendly. But it's still not adult-only either. I'll change my post above but what I meant was that while some individuals find it offensive (and I understand the arguments against it, no need for a re-hash), if it's being broadcast at times when families can be watching, if its marketing is young-adult skewed and Mattel are making dolls for it, then it's not whatever the opposite of family-friendly is.madsky wrote:not sure anyone would consider WWE family entertainment since they started to add the women to it.

Re: Nespresso Set to Drop Hollywood Star George Clooney
The vast majority of WWE is the men fake wrestling which is targeted mostly to men 12-34. This used to be more family-friendly fake fighting entertainment. McMahon did get some bad publicity when he decided to add the women, "divas" probably to keep some men "entertained." Not the opposite of family-friendly, but Stacy's small part of it isn't geared to the "family" part, just there.
Still get your point, not any worse than a lingerie model, soft porn actress, or Italian Velina. Wow when you put them all together now there are some interesting occupations for his girls by Mr. Clooney.

Re: Nespresso Set to Drop Hollywood Star George Clooney
Thanks Dior – I wasn´t fishing for compliments. I do not make good pictures. What´s the word? Photo genetic. I have done modeling once, the photographer had really hard time choosing ok pic of about 600 he took (and he is famous & established name in the business, also 30 year career behind him). We became and still are good friends. I tease him if he will “snapchat” with me and he says he rather fly over and see me in person. Which he does.
I didn´t pass this “not photo genetic” thing to my son. And it has already created some problems. He doesn´t take a bad picture. We live in an incredible look oriented time. I try to emphasize the other abilities math, sports…but as young as he is he already is aware of his looks. I made a mistake and let him do the winter wear modeling for kids. They wanted him for summer also. I didn´t want him to do the swimwear. So he was wearing army colored shorts. I have nice pictures of him on the deck in the Mediterranean sea with other boys. Shorts and sunglasses on. But it´s not something I want to world to see, really. So I said no.
I´m not an expert in advertising by any means
But we have heard about these deals. Stars lending their names and images to the companies.
7 years. Long time?
Let´s take a look at some cases first. Kate Moss lost deals with H&M, Burberry and Chanel. Actually for many she is best known from being a Burberry girl for years and years.
Brittney Spears lost PepsiCo. deal to Beonce, which started 11 years ago and is still going on.
David Beckham has a lifetime deal with Adidas. Also, Armani, Samsung and Diet Coke uses his face.
Usain Bolt has Puma deal and he gets about $8.6 million annually.
Jessica Simpson has a contract with Weight Watchers, worth millions. Not sure how impressed they are with her second pregnancy…
Paris Hilton earns more than $10 million a year from selling different product lines - everything from handbags and sunnies to pet supplies.
Eva Longoria gave her face to the cat food maker. She gets couple of millions per year from it.
Tiger Woods had AT&T, Accenture, Gatorade and Tag Heuer. Nike was the only company that stood by him during the “scandal” and divorce.
But Nike didn´t stand by Lance Armstrong after hearing the doping allegations. So his long-term global cooperation with Nike ended there.
Catherine ZetaJones managed to renegotiate T-Mobile after a couple of years break. Which was, at the beginning, one of the highest paid deals ever.
Etc.
One conclusion is that these deals run for years, sometimes decades and even lifetime. But companies do not hang in there with their tarnished stars, they call quits.
With Clooney there was a ready set. For him the target could have been to get a 100 million dollar deal with someone, long term. Also get the best out of UN ambassador thing (like hedburn did). Maybe something else. Could be medicin, insurance, banking, telecommunication, climate matter, but that´s a bit dangerous because then he would get all the green hippie communists following him....
In a way I can understand the statement "there is no bad publicity". Resently he has gotten a lot of coverage in gossip sites.
"Here is our stasy, George Clooney´s live in girlfriend going to this dog´s wedding after being in this cat´s birthday party last week. Clutch is.... shoas are.... dress is.... who gives a fXXk? Not very upscale.

I know you were not fishing for compliments, but somebody had to state the facts.
Just had the impression that anybody who has got the wrong opinion is supposed to be the banned poster.
