You know, every single article I read did not mention Meryl or Julia or George of ANY of the other actors at the casting call. I don't think that is normal to have them them for an open call.

Hollywood is turning an Oklahoma play into a movie, with stars like Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep.

And they're looking for extras right here in Green Country.

Some of Oklahoma's Own are looking to make their movie debut in the feature film "August: Osage County."

"I think everybody's excited, and they're glad we're here, and I'm glad to have more and more films shooting here," local casting director Chris Freihofer said.

A Norman casting company is searching for extras to be in the movie alongside Roberts and Streep.

"I'd love to be anything," hopeful Kevin Reynard said. "You can see my arm or my head, the back of my head, anything. I would just be happy to be part of it."

"August: Osage County" is based on a play written by Tulsan Tracy Letts.

It tells about a family who comes together when their alcoholic father goes missing.

"I really love the play "August: Osage County" and I wanted to be in the new Meryl Streep movie," Reynard said.

Reynard was one of 4,292 people who showed up at the casting at Promenade Mall on Saturday.

"With Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts and George Clooney the producer, it would certainly be a dream come true because those are certainly my favorite actors," hopeful Toby Jenkins said.

While some are hoping to meet famous faces, others just want to get their foot in the door.

"I've always wanted to be an actress ever since I was little, but I mean we'll just see where it goes," hopeful Katie Standlee said.

The local casting director will look through Saturday's pictures to find the perfect extras.

"The biggest thing we're looking for in an extra is availability and ability to return calls and emails and a good attitude," Freihofer said. "Sometimes it can be a little boring being on set after the first couple of hours and people have to stay in a good attitude and ready to work."

Extras will be notified as little as 24 to 48 hours before they are needed.

If you didn't get a chance to come out, you still have another shot. Next weekend they'll be setting up at Bartlesville High School.

The film is set to begin recording in Pawhuska and Bartlesville in late September.

i'm hard put to imagine George there. Yes, as the producer he'd be involved in the main cast members but the extras? I don't think he went to the extras castings for Leatherheads or Ides of March did he?

I never did believe that he'd be there. I think that he puts his trust in the casting director and their people. I don't recall him being around for extra casting on his other films, but as we all know, he can hide very well...

From what I could tell watching the news people just held up a card with some info in front of them and their pictures were taken. They even gave out an email address for those who couldn't make it to just email pictures. The news outlets seemed to have pretty good access and there was no one we would recognize there. It would probably be a little different if there was a possibility of a speaking part but they stressed these are non speaking extras. So I guess nothing but a picture was needed.

So if we believe the knife guy George is in Toronto. I saw a story today that Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are there. Ben for Argo so it makes sense that George would be there since he was one of the producers wasn't he????

I'm calling BS on the knife boy tweet. Argo's TIFF premiere and red carpet was last night and it showed again this morning. There were lots of red carpet pics on the gossip sites today and I think if George had been there we would have pics.

Remember years ago when he was trying to discredit that Gawker site (whatever it was) and he was having people call in from all over the place saying they saw so and so here and so and so there? I think some of these people just want their 30 seconds of fame on twitter and will twit anything that will get them some hits.

Not if he had some reason to want to stay "hidden".

There were actually three from that particular magazine referencing George throughout the day, kind of a "we heard he's here", "he's definitely here", "he's leaving" thing, so I felt like it was pretty safe. Plus it makes sense that he'd still be in Europe working. I don't believe he's been back to the States at all since the summer. He could have just as easily recorded that DNC video in Europe rather than flying back to LA just for that.

I didn't see the Stacy tweet, but that's interesting. I hadn't considered that the pic she tweeted of the NYC skyline taken from a plane could just as easily have been taken as she was landing and just posted later. We just assumed she was leaving. She may very well still be in NYC.

And if you watch that video she says "he's in L.A."really fast, very different from her normal speech pattern. I think we talked about it at one point. Maybe that was what convinced her to not do interviews the next day.

I saw a video in the last day or two...can't remember if it was here. Something similar to TMZ where the reporters talk to each other about the stories. Anyway one of them had some knowledge of body language and when he watched that interview he didn't like the way she had eye contact with the reporter, but when she asked the "where is George question" she looked away quickly when she answered the question. Interesting....
