Lela, great question! I have NO husband, but my son thinks I'm nuts! His wife likes George, but not the same feelings I have. She loves her husband!

I've never been married. As I said before, I have a very long-term friend who is a "copy cat" of G in so many, many ways. He also admires G; they are both "very Irish." If he knew that I followed G, he would make fun. But when I tell him the jokes on this blog, then he understands. Of course he assures me that he is the better lover. Like G he is very competitive.

I have no husband right now but the 'men' in my family all think he's gay, grey, old, arrogant, smouty, short, a show-off. I think there might be a certain amount of jealousy here.
As for myself I think he's the best thing to hit the world since hot fudge sundays and cookies. Luv him.

My husband likes Clooney as an actor. He liked Ides, Descendants and Up In the Air and his favorite was Oceans 11. But his personal life, from what I tell him or he reads in the newspapers, he thinks is funny. He can't believe at this point in Clooney's life, dating the same type of younger women doesn't get boring. He says he knows guys like Clooney and they are better off single. They are much happier that way.

no my husband doesn't like George but, do i care? I'm hitting a brick wall with him anyway... sometimes I'd like to hit him with one
was trying to save the money to move out but realized I may need a "brick" load
he calls George "sleazy"

Re: Have you an housband? Do his thinks of George?
This is an interesting thread
My husband was very impressed with George's film
Good Night & Good Luck years ago and now enjoys his films
and his humanitarian work.
He's now very impressed with his recent awards and calls him
"Good Ole George !"
When he saw him with SK on the Golden Globes show his comment was "Isn't she tall !"
But then noticed how many other tall actresses there were
there too that night.
He's quite happy about me spending time here as it gives him leeway to follow his own interests !
And, just for mel's information, he was delighted with Leatherheads, as he loves all sport and likes Renee !

My husband peeks at the site when he's home after I've gone to bed. Not for his love of George, he's just noisy, likes to know what I'm doing. Keep telling him all he has to do is talk, have a conversation, then he wouldn't have to sneak!
Most films he watches are foreign with English sub-titles.

Lucy, I think people of the male persuasion don't like to talk. LOL When my son was living with me one evening I asked him how his day was. He looked at me suspiciously and said 'you're gearing up for a conversation aren't you?' Then he promptly went to his room.

Not married, but if I have been in the right place in the very early 1980's, I could have hung out with George.

I must admit I wouldn't stop coming to one of my favourite boards because of some guy. He takes me as I am and I like George although not sure if I could date someone who thinks Adam Sandler is a genius I do have my standards. My family know but they already think I'm strange anyway.....

Re: Have you an housband? Do his thinks of George?
My hubby thinks its funny that I like George. Men usually seem to be attracted to younger women and must think the same is true for us women, so he doesn't get the attraction, he thinks G is too old. If he sees me on here or watching a G movie, he just laughs and rolls his eyes.

Joanna - Adam Sandler is an overblown hack who makes movies only 14 year olds would love.
Only one film with him in it that I liked and it's cause Don Cheadle was in it!
This is info on that film called "Reign Over Me" [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Other than that I wouldn't pay two cents to see a film he stars in, produces, or directs. But of course, that's just my opinion...

Oh Lorna we both have great taste! You couldn't pay me to see any of his movies it's amazing he keeps making the same movies with the same childish jokes. He is just gross I don't find him funny at all....

Re: Have you an housband? Do his thinks of George?
Comedy movies are often cheap to make. Sometimes I wonder if those writing them, acting them, and watching them are all united by the fact that they are "under the influence" of something. I have sat through free previews cringing at the stale jokes and lack of comedic timing, while others are hysterically laughing. Some moviegoers will laugh at literally anything. Others really enjoy very juvenile and raunchy humor. As a former soap star I once dated who took me to a comedy show in LA said, "you only need to make some of the people laugh some of the time to be successful." And once you have a "name" in Hollywood, you can star in movies, even if they are all turkeys, until you have too many bombs that lose tons of money.

Re: Have you an housband? Do his thinks of George?
Why I started this treat? Why after years I was saying to me in my mariito George is the most handsome man, charming intelligent exists in the world and he has always respected my vision, when he saw him do the same thing with Stacy, the same expressions, the same behavior he had with Ely, he said to me: I'm sorry to you but he is definitely gay and the same thing he told me a friend who does the work of psychiatrist. This destabilized me! No, not George! My husband said, "expected to have the years of Rock Husdson when not import more than being a sex symbol ........................ .. it made me sick! My psychiatrist friend told me: "No man has the same behavior, the same smiles with different women, because every woman inspires a different behavior. When I see the same behavior with different women means that they play. Clooney as an actor "become" very good! Help me!

Lela I respect your opinion but you can't go by George's expressions to his girlfriends while on display on the carpet. He always has these standard or template looks on his face because he thinks that's what his fans want to see, the kind, smiling, laughing persona. That is NOT the true person. I think he is just putting on a show. And BTW I'd bet the ranch that he's not gay.

Re: Have you an housband? Do his thinks of George?
Cindy, my vision is not, George is not gay for me this is the view from men! For years I told my husband that if I met (I met him but I have not had the courage) I would have jumped roofs lean against, and he always smiled and always or often to me he respected my dreams.cindigirl wrote:Lela I respect your opinion but you can't go by George's expressions to his girlfriends while on display on the carpet. Re: Have you an housband? Do his thinks of George?
Many different actresses have commented that G is a very good lover; being so competitive this is very important to him. So then how could he be gay? I believe that G is sleeping with girls that do not want the "glare of the spotlight." They would be hurt if they saw G truly affectionate and loving towards his publicity escorts. That is the only way he can "keep his private life truly private."

Re: Have you an housband? Do his thinks of George?
What I meant in my earlier post is, that, George was living in Cincinnati from 1980 to 1981 or 1982, after he dropped out from Northern Kentucky University after the 1979-80 academic year. If I had shopped at McAlpin's (Crestview Hills Shopping Center) in Erlanger, Kentucky, or shopped at Nadler's in Kenwood Towne Center Mall in Cincinnati, or went to the Conservatory dance club in Covington, Kentucky, I could have met George and hung out with him at the dance clubs.

Re: Have you an housband? Do his thinks of George?
Playfuldeb, your comment on 1/17/12, regarding being your own person, so am I, there was a time when my husbands sneaky behavior felt wrong, made me angry etc., over 35 years with him as my husband, father of our children, I no longer feel that way. He comes from a time were men did not express or communicate well with anyone. After years of living with him now I see his COH , as a way to know me without having to talk much.
MM, don't we all have those if only moments.
