When reporters asked for Kelly’s thoughts on George, Kelly said that she knew and loved his new GF Stacy!

“Stacy Kiebler is such a beautiful girl and she’s so super nice. I do know her. She’s really, really sweet and gorgeous.”

“She is really down to earth. I don’t know their relationship, but she is a lovely, lovely girl. She’s really cool, she always remembers your name, says hi, she’s never too good for anybody. She’s like my kind of girl. She’s a girl’s girl.”

I am so confused though she was a guy's guy, now she is a girl's girl? Geeeeeee's no wonder George look's so perplexed!

How does Kelly Benisimon fit into this picture? Another wannabe celebrity chiming in on an oddball situation. She couldn't cut it as a NY real housewife, so she'll do anything to keep her name in the limelight for an extra minute or two.

Didn't say how she knows SK, admits she doesn't know SK's relationship with George. Maybe she wants to be on his list.

Probably met her once at some d list event. Doesn't sound like they are friends. Just trying to get her name linked with George's in a sentence and let's face it this will be the closest she will get.

It brought her a lot of publicity, I guess...

Well Kelly is about as cray cray as they come, so, makes sense that her and Cracy would get along

It's always nice to have friends even if they are not close friends... that's what I've always said!

Yes, I'm sure Cray IS a nice person and fun to be around. She comes across that way in photos and there haven't been people posting anywhere on the net that she's not (not like they did for EC). However, that does not stop me from saying how I feel about her. And, there was a poster here who said she knows people that knows Cray and Cray is not the brightest bulb.

What women would be the brightest bulb to signe on as arm candy knowing it all is temp! WAIT, WAIT be for you all go but it is good publicity extra, extra...... I beg to differ! She will never have what George has in the bank and be able to afford long term( the rest of her life) the lifestyle that George is introducing her to. And there is also the fact that one day maybe far down the road she will have to look her self in the mirror and also explan to her children(that she want's) all about her life choices. IMO

So my vote not the brightest bulb, I am at least 100 watt.

Now they can say arm candy cause she showed up with George in New York and he walked with her. Looking as awkward as ever! LOL

For not being the “brightest bulb” I don’t see any of us on the red carpet with our arms wrapped around George… I try but I guess if you have to call someone not the brightest bulb, please call me that. I cannot for the life of me… even meet George!

George promotes Stacy

The Descendents screened at the New York Film Festival last night. Buzz is so strong about this film, and George Clooney’s performance in it (directed by Alexander Payne, his first full length feature since the acclaimed Sideways) has people practically guaranteeing an Oscar nomination. All this on top of The Ides of March which also could contend at the Kodak.

Still, according to the Los Angeles Times, George is losing ground to his friend Brad Pitt, and has been steadily over the years. What? You can read their position on it here. Clooney fans and Angelina Jolie haters will likely disagree. But is it coincidence or conspiracy that after the publication of this article, George has finally given his current piece, Stacy Keibler, permission to stand next to him on a red carpet? Well, to be fair, he’s been grooming her for it for a couple of months now. She was well on her way. And now, as the awards races are taking shape, they’ve decided it’s the right time.

Here they are, posing together, officially, their red carpet debut. Looks like it needs some practice, non? A little awkward. Better work it out now than in January when almost every weekend they’ll have to run the campaign circuit.

Will it last until then?

Well... George made sure to let us know they went to Mexico last week - click here - and now he’s letting her in the front door as opposed to the back entrance which is essentially how it was at TIFF.

And now?

Somehow she got permission to tweet about him. Indirectly.

She’s a Baltimore Ravens fan. It’s well known that George is for Cincinnati. And he special ordered her a cake for her birthday.

Elisabetta Canalis was told to shut her Twitter down after dumbassedly insulting Jennifer Aniston. Click here and here for a refresher. Stacy Keibler however, so far at least, not only has permission to continue tweeting, but she can also tweet about HIM. This girl? This girl has a very, very good agent.

This “girl” is also how he refers to her. When he’s telling his people - the drivers, the security - how he wants her placed, how she should arrive, etc, he calls her “the girl”.

“Pick the girl up at 8pm and bring her over to the restaurant.”

“The girl is coming through the front tonight.”

“Drop me off, then get the girl and have her brought in the back door.”

You know, at a certain point, it becomes a branding issue. George’s escort classification is always C List and under. And that’s partly to do with maintenance. Stacy Keibler, for example, requires a lot less attention than Jennifer Lopez. I get that.

But what is the consequence to his brand? It’s like ordering an 80 dollar steak and then smothering it in ketchup. Going back to the Brad Pitt comparison - you’ll note Brad Pitt, in companion selection, since becoming a major player, has always kept it at a certain level. For the brand. Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie...they’ve all enhanced the brand. In a way that the Italian Queen and Stacy Keiblers of the world simply can’t manage.

George Clooney & Stacy Keibler do their first red carpet side-by-side

Well, this should appease all of those critics who claim that George Clooney and Stacy Keibler’s relationship is some massive conspiracy involving an overzealous publicist, a massive amount of Photoshop and every media/gossip outlet in existence, all working in concert to make Stacy “happen.” Yes, George Clooney and his lover Stacy Keibler walked the red carpet together, at last. Stacy has been invited to his premieres twice before - in Toronto and LA - but she wasn’t allowed to walk WITH Clooney. At last night’s New York Film Festival premiere of The Descendents, Stacy finally got her moment with Clooney, in front of God and twenty million cameras.

For the occasion, I have to say, Stacy looked pretty good. One of the things I enjoy about Clooney is that he generally chooses ladies who are not “fashionable” in the Vogue sense. When he makes some lady his “girlfriend,” usually they’re pretty busted in the sense that they don’t have anyone doing their hair and makeup, they don’t really know how to dress for a red carpet, and they tend to dress like Vegas cocktail waitresses (which they sometimes are). Stacy was like that too - her first red carpet appearance as a “girlfriend of” was pretty bad - remember that Frederick’s of Hollywood-style dress? And her hair and makeup have been bad for a while. But last night was definitely a step in the right direction - Stacy wore a very sexy, flattering, black Versace gown that looks great on her figure. The makeup is much better, and the hair… is still kind of busted, but it’s not anywhere near as bad as it was.

So… they’re together. Stop claiming that it’s some massive conspiracy. He’s hitting that. The only conspiracy is about how long Stacy can keep her cray-cray tamped down. Will she make it past the awards season?

Hi Cindy I totally agree with you. If she's not the brightest bulb she certainly does seem to be the happiest as we all would be if we were in her shoes even temporarily. IMO

I know... I would like to have one dream... To wake up in the morning laying next to that man...

According to Lainey George calls her "the girl" - Why? I'm sure he didn't forget her name and I'm disappointed in him if it's true he calls her just "the girl" if that's all he thinks of her.

Patty, I hope not. Stacy seems like a nice person doesn't deserve that. But after the way he referred to Eli as "some woman I picked up in Italy" I tended to believe it.

I have to agree in Kaisers own sarcastic way I think she was telling the truth. All the blogs and gossip sites were calling him out on PDA, especially after Cabo. I think George was like "You want PDA, I'll give you some PDA." ALso, Ted usually has a comment on George, nothing from him so far. I think we will see her a few more times then Oscars and thats all folks. To hard for him at this point to break in a new piece of chewable candy. He has some big trips planned I wonder if he will take her to London, Paris and Austrailia.

Cindigirl, I was just making light of M4Rose's statement on how long she will stick around if he doesn't get an Oscar nom. She's against sugar, so going to the bakery to wallow in her sorrows was a joke. And she apparently is in to cleansing, so she would have to cleanse all that sugar from her system.

She seems to spend most of her time cleansing and now it looks like she will be following George around. Eli considered that a job so Stacy probably will too. People are calling him out because this just doesn't look like a couple dating the red carpet walk looks so awkward of course they are going to joke about it. People actually backed off from calling her his girlfriend last story they wrote they didn't know where things were headed. So George does have an escape if he thinks things aren't working he said from the beginning it was a fling. Someone should ask Ted C what he thinks about it.

George Clooney and Stacy Keibler step out on the red carpet, but actor is absent from her birthday

Stacy Keibler was by George Clooney's side at the premiere of "The Descendants" on Sunday night, but he wasn't by hers when she quietly celebrated her 32nd birthday on Saturday night.

A source tells us the actress and former pro wrestler marked the milestone with her parents, Patricia and Gary - but without Clooney - at Catch in the Meatpacking District.

The next night, however, Keibler, clad in a skintight black dress, posed for pictures with Clooney at Alice Tully Hall when his picture closed the New York Film Festival. She also accompanied the Hollywood heartthrob to the post-screening party at Stone Rose Lounge, which is owned by Clooney's friend Rande Gerber.

So he wasn"t there for her birthday... but sent her a cake... then flew her to NY to walk the red. Great trade!

Ouch. He couldn't be bothered to make the effort? Wow, suddenly Canalis looks like a meaningful relationship and we all know how shallow that was.

Why do you think they are together then? I always said it wouldn't work because it was too fast and a rebound relationship but he's kept it up this long... it makes a person wonder.

I would guess (as the speed of this relationship goes), by the end of this Fall or in Springtime, just because they might want to marry in lake Como and it won't be that cold , I think. She might show up to the Oscar's as Mrs. Clooney. Can you imagine?!

It said her party was in the Meatpacking District, which is in NY) sooooo, I'm thinking - if they flew in together, which the pics previously posted prove - that he was probably down the street and couldn't be bothered to help her celebrate - not that he was in another state and couldn't be bothered to help her celebrate.
