At 59 years old, George Clooney has reached a level of stardom few actors ever will. While the medical drama E.R. was undoubtedly his big break, Clooney has gone on to star in (and direct and write and produce) several films, become an influential activist and humanitarian, co-found a tequila company, marry human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin, and father twins. But prior to achieving all that, Clooney was just one of countless actors trying to crack into the business. In the '80s, becoming People's Sexiest Man Alive was just a twinkle in his eye, but he was already working quite a bit, appearing on shows like The Facts of Life, Murder She Wrote, and Baby Talk. Soooooooooooooo cute! But OMG that hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's amazing how his style has changed from frat boy to sophisticate.

Those eyebrows! That hair!! The chin!!! And is that an earring in his left ear!!!!

I believe this shoot was in his old home, wasn't it? The one that Celine had to do up?

Hmmm yes!  That hair and chin.  He loves the camera and it loves him.  But those shirts!

Dare I admit it? I'm rather fond of those shirts!

Katie, I'm with you! His wardrobe was a lot more colorful back then. Now he's just a bit too fashion-icon chic. I wonder if he even owns anything that isn't a neutral color.

I dunno if he's intentionally fashion icon chic.  I think it's more that he discovered the safe clothes to wear back in the 90s and hasn't changed anything since.  

If I remember rightly, it was Sarah Larson who possibly talked him into the 'slim fit' men's shirts that he occasionally still wears.  And so far no woman - not even Amal! - has been able to get him out of his grandpa jeans.  Sigh.

  I sometimes wonder if they're the same pair he wore back then! If he's like most of the men I know, they could be.
