That’s great. What’s equally important is what happens to this Sudanese general and his family. There should be severe consequences leveled by the judge.

According to The AgeOpens a New Window., the family of retired army general General James Hoth Mai, who who served on the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (once a key faction of the Second Sudanese Civil War) from 2009 until 2014, claimed Australian welfare payments totaling almost $350,000 — despite the fact they were allegedly able to buy a luxury home in Melbourne valued at over $1 million with a check.
As a result, police have slapped a restraining order on Mai’s home Down Under and a collection of European cars he owns there.
Though Mai has fought the freeze on family assets, officials claim he and his loved ones obtained their funds through illegal means, including money laundering and corruption.
The Australian government reportedly first started looking into Mai and his finances after ClooneyOpens a New Window., 57, co-authored a report in 2016 with his non-governmental organization The Sentry, which was responsible for tracking South Sudanese military member’s financial interests around the world.

Re: Money laundering S Sudan General caught by George
Interesting how they credit George Clooney's report as a key to these findings.
I think this story is quite interesting. Through research, it is my understanding Australia is a target for major terrorist attacks, accompanied by an attempt of the 1% (U.S. Corporate Business, Saudi Arabia, and China; with Russia as the wild card) to through global markets into a flux. In an effort to gain control of global wealth, the terrorist attacks is meant to be a key starting point to start the decline of global markets.
Just a note for those who believe nothing will happen to the United States. The 800 billion dollar bank bail out will be used as an excuse as to why the United States will not be able to withstand the flux in global markets.

Re: Money laundering S Sudan General caught by George
I'm hoping that with George's name being associated with this action that there are no reprisals aimed at him and/or his family.

I don't think they are in harms way, the plan is to use them to carry the narrative. Out of all the wrong doing in the world an Army General from South Sudan is the culprit here; really?

Re: Money laundering S Sudan General caught by George
Jo, I think he's being as careful as he can be - especially since the twins were born. He's been working on this since South Sudan fell into the hands of corrupt leaders and he's been saying "follow the money" to any agency that would listen.
It isn't surprising that someone would finally pay attention - especially when the trail leads to their own doorstep. It strikes me as odd that a South Sudanese general ended up in Australia, but apparently a lot of these people move their assets out of South Sudan. It just seems to me that Australia is a little far afield - although, maybe that's the point. Maybe they thought no one would bother them there.
Anyway. I'm rambling. Just wanted to reassure you that George has been associated with this for a while and is still safe and sound.
