George Clooney Supports Hillary Clinton in 2016: "She'd Be Very Tough to Beat Now," Actor Says
Hillary Clinton hasn't announced whether she's going to run for president in 2016, but that's not stopping George Clooney.
The Oscar winner is already supporting the former secretary of state if she makes a bid for the White House.
"I think she'd be very tough to beat now," Clooney told me exclusively this weekend at the BAFTA Los Angeles Jaguar Britannia Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. "And you know, all of the things that people thought of her as polarizing in 2008, don't exist at all [anymore]."
Clinton actually was in L.A. over the weekend. The Mexican American Leadership Initiative honored her on Saturday. The night before, she spoke at a benefit for the International Medical Corps. Musician and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire actor Lenny Kravitz, Steven Spielberg and DreamWorks honcho Jeffrey Katzenberg were among the 800 people who jammed into the ballroom at the Beverly Wilshire hotel for the event.
Also on Friday, Rob Reiner moderated a private discussion with the former first lady, her daughter Chelsea Clinton and television execs and writers about how show storylines can include national service and early childhood education, according to The Washington Post.
"I think there's one last glass ceiling to be broken and I think she could do a great job with it," Clooney also said at BAFTA.
So can Clinton count on Clooney's vote?
The actor smiled, "Of course!"
Clooney's backing could mean big bucks for Clinton's campaign coffer. In May 2012, he famously hosted a dinner at his home for Pres. Barack Obama that brought in a whopping $15 million for his reelection campaign.
And it sounds like Clooney's pal Julia Roberts would be right by his side. She says in the new issue of Marie Claire, "I had interviewed Hillary Clinton [for OWN], who has become a personal hero to me—who she is and her convictions as a woman and mother and a humanitarian."

Hillary Clinton 2016 is looking very promising.
Former First Lady, US Senator, Secretary of State, author, humanitarian & Yale graduate.
Strong views on foreign policy, economics & global affairs.
Elizabeth Warren doesn't have such a high profile.
It's about time the US had a female president too.
Gender aside, no other candidate would be as suitable at present, IMO.
It's wonderful that she's getting so much support from Hollywood celebrities.
