George Clooney's helicopter makes fuel pitstop

Massa Carrara, August 24, 2012 - George Clooney has landed his helicopter at the airport in Cinquale, Mass, for a pit stop. The popular American actor was on his way to his villa in Como, when there was no need to refuel. Therefore had permission to land at the Cinquale, where he fell and where in fact the aircraft was restocked. How to inform airport sources, the stop was a few tens of minutes,
So the outing with friends in Corsica is already over. And it's likely Stacy is also returning from Mykonos .... this weekend is assumed to be of fire .....

Don't get this. There was no need to refuel so why did they stop?

I don't think he fell do they mean he landed. I think the tranlation is off here
