After letting us know how many indispensable immigrants are in America
Now he is getting all together press and media
Against him
Trump falsely claims US murder rate is 'highest' in 47 years
And about falsely claiming
Press don't talk enough of terroristic attacks
And also now we know where terrorists come from
Not much from the infamous 7 countries
Well done dumbtrump

Last night Sen. Elizabeth Warren was cut off from speaking because she critisized Jeff Sessions - with reading a letter from Loretta King:

But I'm sure, that's just fake news...

Maybe, she has finally woken up and realized the man she married is awful.
She probably knows leaving isn't an option I'm guessing she doesn't want to lose her gilded lifestyle.
Lizzy a body language expert said she in nothing more than an object to him. That is sad and it shows.

Dakota Access Pipeline to win US Army permit for completion

The US Army has informed Congress that it will grant permission to complete the controversial Dakota Access Pipeline near tribal territory.
The notice comes after Donald Trump formally backed the project last month in one of his first acts as US president.
Thousands of predominantly Native American protesters have boycotted the $3.8bn (£3bn) pipeline's construction in the state of North Dakota.
The Standing Rock Tribe vowed to fight the decision in court.

Dakota Pipeline: What's behind the controversy?
The 1,172 mile (1,886km), four-state project is almost finished except for a one-mile stretch under Lake Oahe in North Dakota, where demonstrators have set up protest encampments.

Re: The Serious Side - part 2
The Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, once again
obstructing our democratic process. He was within his right to object last night but it was totally unnecessary. Sessions is going to be confirmed anyway. And to many it was insulting to the words and memory of Coretta Scott King that Warren was silenced. McConnell and his team made it their mission to obstruct Obama as much as they could during Obama's eight years in office. And it was McConnell who decided not to even give a hearing to Obama's choice for Supreme Court Justice last year.
He is not a congressional leader that I respect. He is part of the problem that exists in Congress.

Donna,
if McConnell had let Warren read Loretta King's letter, it hadn't gotten as much attention as his action to cut her off...
I guess McConnell didn't want to hear any critics to Sessions to prohibit any discussions about him being a racist, but that's not how democracy works.

Bernie Saunders read Coretta Scott kings letter on the senate floor.
http://people.com/politics/Bernie-sanders-Coretta-Scott-king-letter-senate-elizabeth-warren/
they used a rarely used chamber regulation so that senator Warren couldn't speak.
It Prohibits senators from insulting each other on the senate floor.

Re: The Serious Side - part 2
More evidence that McConnell is a hypocrite, at the VERY least.... back in 2015 when Senator Ted Cruz was speaking on the Senate floor he accused McConnell of false statements. There was no invoking of this rarely used regulation, Rule 19, against Cruz.
Good for Sanders! Glad he stood up to what is truly disgraceful. The behavior of the Republican Party has been disgraceful. It's not enough that they are enabling Trump but then they have to insult a fellow senator while she was reading the words of Coretta Scott King while making an argument against a Cabinet nominee. It seems like she should be well within her rights to argue and present supporting evidence against a Cabinet nominee during the nomination process.

Re: The Serious Side - part 2
I just read a story that Trump tweeted today, lashing out at Nordstrom's for pulling Ivanka's clothing line from their store. "Terrible" he tweeted. It was news earlier this week that Nordstrom's was pulling her line because of low sales. Trump should understand that is how business works. He's a f***ing businessman.
The reason Ivanka's clothing line is selling poorly is because of her father. Plain and simple. There is a Lord & Taylor store near me. They have a section of their store devoted to her line. Every time I've been in there no one is in that department. Living where I live it is understandable why most women here would not want to purchase anything with the Trump name on it.
Most here lean democratic. I suspect that many other stores in more urban areas that carry her line are coming up against the same problem and they may follow suit.

What's the next business thing he'll tweet?
'It's so unfair, people don't book my hotels anymore!'
Five minutes later:
'I was talking about my sons hotels!'

......and Helen Kennedy's twitter page just below is quite revealing..apparently he tweeted it, instagrammed it. facebooked (is that a word yet?) it, etc etc and then sent Sean Spicer out to deal with the flack........
There seems to be a rumour that he may not be able to read very well.......? People seemed to notice that at the church service before the innauguration when he looked at the service pamphlet and then put it down on the seat and told Melania to do the same..........

He even made Spicer to give an official statement about that? I don't believe it!
The very few pro-Trump comments about his tweet are like:
'A father has the right to support his daughter' and:
'This is not an official POTUS page but a page by the person Trump.'
He just made clear that he sees it as a presidential organ...

Well Trump has said that Gorsuch didn't say what he said to several different people.
He said that Gorsuch's words were misrepresented by Senator Blumental. And that Blumenthal who said he
served in Vietnam and he didn't (major lie ) now misrepresented what Gorsuch said.

It is outrageous that Spicer kept claiming there was a terror attack in Atlanta. He said it several times then he corrected himself. He meant Orlando. BS, he was hoping Trump's supporters would just nod and go along in agreement. Trump and all of his minions are embarrassments! And liars.

Right Lizzy. It was in 1996. It was certainly home grown. It was a white supremacist sympathizer. How could Spicer get that so wrong?
But it's ironic isn't it? Trump is so concerned about the U.S. being attacked by Islamic terrorists that he fails to see that we have incurred far more home grown terrorist attacks than attacks from terrorists overseas. Seems to me our government should be taking a serious look at the role white supremacy has played in conducting terrorist attacks in our own country. But we know that won't happen because we know who is whispering in his ear every single day! Between Bannon and Jeff Sessions as Attorney General we can pretty much be assured there will be no crackdown on white supremacist activities here in the U.S.

Of course there is islamistic terror, no doubt about that. But it's simply the question if that's the biggest issue to fear (I'm much more concerned about these people running your country at the moment) and also if we allow this fear to dictate our lives...

carol, couldnt agree more. In my mind Trump is a far bigger threat to our country than a Islamic terror attack ... as awful as that would be. Promoting fear, continually telling lies, questioning media legitimacy and disregard for our Constitution is not good for our country. Trump announced a little while ago he will be announcing a new quick action on national security next week. This should be interesting.

That's the piece I was trying to post, Donnamarie. Thank you.
BBC News are doing a whole series like this I think and travelling to different states to get people's opinions.
Sometimes I wonder if the sheer size of the country means there's a degree of introspection in parts of it.
Yep, what Gere said is so true, but many would dismiss it as elitist - if they ever read the piece. Shame he hasn't (to my knowledge) had the platform in the States to say it.
This young lady is good for a giggle isn't she!?

I went to YouTube and watched the full interview with Lahren. I too was impressed with Noah's ability to keep his composure and to keep asking the intelligent questions. If Bill Maher was doing this bit all hell would have broken out. But this woman's comments and perspective run right in line to how many people in the U.S. feel about race and patriotism. I've never heard of her before and hopefully she will never become popular enough for mainstream media.

He doesn't pay taxes, he stiffs people who do work for him, he sues people into oblivion to avoid paying what he legitimately owes. Apparently his children feel just as entitled as he does. I'd love to see their whole financial empire collapse so they'd be forced to pay their own way like the rest of us.
Did you read where the Secret Service is looking to rent space in Trump Tower to use when they're here to protect him? So now they're going to pay him for the right to protect him? Disgusting!

annemarie - There is! He's not allowed to make money from his businesses while he's president. It's a violation of ethics rules laid out in the Constitution. Not that the Republicans will invoke it, but maybe the Dems will. IMO. Jerry Nadler is a hero!

Re: The Serious Side - part 2
I just realized many of you won't know what the heck annemarie and I are talking about. Sorry about that. To explain:
Jerry Nadler is a NYC Congressman who has introduced a "resolution of inquiry" to the House Judiciary Committee to compel the Justice Department to provide the House of Representatives with whatever information it has on Trump and his associates, including any material unearthed in criminal probes or counterintelligence investigations. This could prove interesting, as Michael Flynn (national security advisor) and advisors Paul Manafort, Carter Page and Roger Stone are already under investigation.
The Committee has 14 legislative days to make a decision. If no decision is made the resolution is brought to the floor of the House for a vote.
Now we wait. If nothing else, it's a start at dismantling the Trump regime.
