George Clooney receives the 2012 German Media Award

Clooney makes fans happy
Baden-Baden (ke) - Hours of waiting has paid off on Tuesday for about 80 fans of George Clooney. Front burner of the Park-Hotel Hollywood actor was patient before the award ceremony of autographs - and so did the fans happy.

George Clooney on why he feels dead!

George Clooney has been honoured with a German Media Award - the gong is handed to personalities who have influenced society and politics in a major way.

For years, Clooney has been championing the cause of people in the Sudanese crisis region of Darfur where he has been visiting refugee camps and also made documentaries.

He also initiated a project that helps evaluate evidence of human rights abuse with the help of satellite pictures.

Clooney made a joke of all of the attention he was getting on the night:

"Wow, you embarrass me. I feel like I am dead and I am at my own memorial. It's so kind, I don't really know how to accept that kind of compliment."

Clooney is currently residing in the German capital Berlin working on his new film 'The Monuments Men'.

Previous winners of the prize include Nelson Mandela, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton and Richard Branson.

Just realised we've got it! Sorry. And thank you Laetval. So my guess about retrospective bit, possibly to camera, may be right. Makes sense.

I don't know how he does it, look so good with the way he has been running around so much. I admire his stamina I would need a week in bed. Not George he looks as gorgeous as ever. I don't mind the beard but I really love his hair this way it has to be so soft.

Im with you, the hair looks gorgeous but I want to see that first photo minus the beard!

These Germans are tricky, this thing has a special design to be useful.
You can put it in front of your cherry tree and scare away the birds with it.
Germans want things to be practical and not only beautiful!

But what if George has no Cherry Tree....he has many very large trees around Casa Clooney LA.

The German flower bouquets are always beautifully presented.
I remember those from my trip to Berlin.

I wonder if our Natasha managed to see him there ?

Showing my ignorance here, or lack of George information ready at hand, but why do I see Gio with George all over Europe and Gio does not come to the US. Is that simply because Gio is European and George uses bodyguards located in the US when out and about. Just curious as I have seen many pictures of him in the US with Rande for eg where there is no obvious protection around him. Are the European fans more zealous.

I think Gio is a great friend, terrific bodyguard, and a heck of a translator for George's deficits in the Italian language. I remember one interview where George said that Gio tries to teach him Italian. He lives in Italy, but has been seen here in the States.

Thanks, I haven't myself seen too much of Gio in the states, so was just wondering. I did come across a video (maybe on here) where George is playing around with a tired Gio who is sitting down trying to nap, looks like they have a great bond.
