George Clooney arrived by private jet on Mykonos, where he is expected to front an event promoting Omega’s Speedmaster watch, on Tuesday.

The American actor and filmmaker was seen exiting the VIP area of the Mykonos airport, before boarding a vehicle awaiting for him. He seemed in great spirits, chatting to the airport staff, and he remarked on the weather by looking at the blue sky over the cosmopolitan island.

Clooney arrived without his wife British-Lebanese human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin. After all, his visit to Mykonos is strictly for business. Local site Mykonoslive.tv captured his arrival on video

It is not clear what event Omega, the Swiss Luxury Watch manufacturer, will organize on Mykonos. Everything is kept under wraps. A brief video uploaded on social media on Monday is not revealing any details.

George Clooney’s watch costs thousands

Last year, Clooney, along with and Hyun Bin, joined Omega to launch a campaign for the watchmaker’s Speedmaster collection. The brand launched its new Speedmaster ’57 pieces, comprising eight watches made from stainless steel with a slim, refined design and a vintage bracelet.

Omega’s Speedmaster is a collection that comes with quite a history. Introduced in 1957, it has been the companion ever since of the racing drivers for whom it was originally conceived, but also of anyone with an eye for smart, functional, timeless design.

When it was first launched, the watch met the high-performance needs of professional drivers with a range of features and attributes, including ease of use, perfect legibility and, in perhaps its most innovative touch, a tachymeter scale that adorns the bezel rather than the dial.

It is priced at $8,300 on leather and $8,600 on bracelet.

Clooney on the Parthenon Marbles

George Clooney is a vocal advocate for the return of the Parthenon Marbles to Greece. In a 2021 communication with Janet Suzman, chairwoman of the British Committee for the Reunification of the Parthenon Sculptures, the Hollywood actor told Suzman:

“There are indeed many objects of historical value that must be returned to their original owners. However, none of them is as important as the Marbles of the Parthenon.”

In an interview with the British Sunday paper Observer he revealed how discussions he had with his wife Amal Alamuddin on the fate of the Parthenon Marbles while they were still dating helped forge a strong bond between them.

Alamuddin was acting for the government of Greece in support of their return from the British Museum.

Responding to Greek Reporter’s question back in 2015, Clooney said that it’s a matter of time for the Parthenon Marbles to be back home.

“I had expressed my opinion in the past, and it remains the same, that these pieces of art will be joined back together and it’s a matter of when and who does it.”

[size=16]At noon on Tuesday, a black SUV passed the entrance of Santa Marina in Ornos shortly after two, coming from Mykonos airport. There is an uproar at the reception since the high-ranking guest they are expecting is none other than Hollywood star George Clooney, who only stayed on the island for a day.
The reservation was not in his name; a pseudonym was used, while all the hotel employees who were recruited to host him signed a confidentiality agreement.
After settling down, the famous actor, who reportedly stayed in one of the resort's nine villas, came down at noon to have lunch at the Buddha Bar, the famous restaurant that has been operating in the hotel for the last few years.

He was accompanied by a friend and despite the fact that they sat where everyone could see them none of the customers disturbed the two men, who ate and relaxed a few hours before the party in Lia, the beach chosen by Omega to launch the her new line of watches.
This beach event had over two hundred guests from all over the world, mainly journalists from major magazines and influencers in the field.

Lia was nothing like a relaxed beach, since all the sunbeds and umbrellas had been removed, and thousands of lanterns had been placed on the sand. Clooney has been an ambassador for the well-known watch company for years and arrived on time, dressed in a blue suit and white shirt.
He chatted with several of the guests, while he had a few minutes of conversation with the Mayor of Mykonos, one of the few Greeks lucky enough to receive an invitation to the party.

After a relaxed cocktail on the sand, where there was a special structure, guests moved on to the Liasti restaurant, which had been specially decorated for the evening.
There they enjoyed the menu prepared by the talented and versatile Tasos Mantis, while in his short speech the CEO of Omega Raynald Aeschlimann praised the beauty of Mykonos and explained why the "Island of the Winds" was chosen for the event.

After the evening ended, Clooney returned to his hotel to rest since his departure was scheduled for today.
There are many on the island who believe that at some point he will come for a vacation on the "Island of the Winds," where he stayed for just one day and a few hours.

Thanks for all of the delicious links. Our boy is looking quite tanned and healthy. I can't imagine wearing a suit on a hot beach is much fun for him. He looked like he was sweating in a few of those pics.

from him in Italy and is bound to know a bit about the lightest weight materials ...and
