Well, it's a much wider area apparently including the town of Wokingham.........
Cold callers are BANNED from George Clooney's UK home as village puts a stop to door-to-door salesmen
The celebrity-studded village where George and Amal Clooney live in a £10million mansion has banned door-to-door salesmen.
Cold callers have been ordered to stay away from the mansion and others in the Thames-side village of Sonning, Berkshire, which this week officially declared itself a No Cold Calling Zone.
Other celebrity residents who will no longer be bothered include Home Secretary Theresa May, legendary Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page, and former England cricket captain Andrew Strauss.
Residents of the upmarket Sonning-on-Thames joined forces with Wokingham and West Berkshire Trading Standards officers and Thames Valley Police to launch the ban.
The town - which is the first in Berkshire to successfully apply for the scheme - aims to increase awareness of doorstep crime and give householders extra legal powers to combat the problem.
No Cold Calling signs are displayed at the entry and exit points of the zones and stickers are issued to residents to display on their front doors telling salesmen not to call on them.
Cold calling on a householder who has clearly said they do not want to be contacted in this way can be considered a breach of consumer protection laws.
Wokingham borough councillor Alistair Auty, deputy executive member for resident services, said: 'Bogus salesmen can be a nuisance, especially to the frail and elderly, so I hope that the recent No Cold Calling Zones in the Wokingham Borough will help tackle the problem.'
Clooney, 54, and his human rights lawyer wife Amal paid £10million for the 17th Century Grade 11 listed Georgian mansion in Sonning 15 months ago.
Teams of workmen have been busy adapting the house, carrying out extensive works inside and out.
Other former famous residents also include Glen Hoddle, former England football manager, and illusionist Uri Geller, who has moved back to Israel and put his £15million house of 35 years on the market.

So now everything that happens in Sonning / Wokingham / Oxfordshire / Berkshire is happening because George and Amal live there?

That's the fail making a story about George when it has nothing to do with them.

Yep, sort of.
The dullest story roughly in the area where that many personalities live, including G and A, will get more clicks because of them - which in turn keeps the advertisers happy.
Ta da!
