George Clooney Is Worried About Pal Bill Murray's Excessive Drinking, Reportedly Stages An Intervention

Bill Murray has reportedly been hitting the bottle hard these days, causing one of his famous friends to stage an intervention. A longtime colleague told the National Enquirer, "Bill's been waging a battle with the bottle for years. Now it looks like the bottle is winning!" The sixty-four-year-old's drunken antics haven't been taken seriously, and the actor and his pal George Clooney have been known for throwing wild parties at their mansions. But Clooney, 54, is now worried that his friend may be drinking himself to death.

An individual who is friends with both stars revealed: "He's worried about Bill's drinking for years, but now George feels he has to do something about it." In May, Murray interrupted a live broadcast of "The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell" on MSNBC while waiting for his turn to be interviewd. The actor fell off a stool and slurred his words. He also took shots of vodka with David Letterman on the TV host's final show and then had wine with dinner. The insider added, "When George saw Bill slur his way through that interview, all his worst fears were confirmed."
