Re: April 2014 Chit Chat
Okay can someone do something please about slowing down time - where have the first 3 months of the year gone???
Also more bushfires in my town again today but this time the firefighters and helicopters put it out before it got to any properties, as usual they did a magnificent job, can't wait for winter and lots and lots of rain (hopefully) as this fire season is too stressful the last few months.

Just seen Children of Men this evening...what a masterpiece!
No wonder George said it was the best film in 2006. He was really lucky to work with Alfonso Cuaron in Gravity!
And I LOVE Alfonso's Harry Potter film-no doubt the best one in the franchise...I'm a fan of Alfonso's now!

I think the film name that escapes you is "The Time Machine"
And the "dude" in the version I remember was played by Rod Taylor.
You're welcome.

Good tip, the children of men. Haven´t seen it. But I have seen all the Harry Potters! I thought they were pretty good, better than Narnia or Hobbit IMO. Hermione is cool.

It was good (children of men)
I´m about to start 2 week easter break here. Heard "bad" news. They are sending me back to "school" as I lack "adequacy" for the next position. They have looked through my papers and found out that I haven´t studied financing or been any trainee program for it. I´m M.Econ, but,
but, but,
no accounting, no financing, but minoring biochemistry, water law and physiology (vertebrate), so I know more about fish than stock markets. Funny. NOT.
Well I hope everyone has a very happy Easter! Do not eat too many chocolate eggs

@ Darling Carla.
I always thought the stock market was a bit of a fishy place, so you weren't too far off the mark.
You are one of the most interesting posters here. And as things hot up in Russia I will miss your take on things.

@Carla, they're requiring you to take courses that deal with "application" rather than the "process by which goods and services are produced, bought and sold", which is economics. Knowing the "trends" of world markets is not a substitute for knowing how to put a financial statement together and how the "nuts and bolts" of an accounting system works and has to be set up, to properly record a business's activity. They are world's apart in function.

Re: April 2014 Chit Chat
Carla97 Glad to find another Potter fan here! Actually I didn't notice Potter books when I was about 10. One of my friends read the first book but I couldn't really understand what it was about so I didn't finish it.Then about two years later they made a pirated screening of the Goblet of Fire in classroom to celebrate the new year. That film fascinated me deeply though I had no idea of previous plots. Another two years later over the summer I watched on TV about the final book getting published news. Then after I entered high school, I found lots of my new classmates were waiting crazily for Deathly Hallows' Chinese edition. They just rushed to buy the book and started reading it right away, all day and night, in the class, on the bus, even on the street you can see many had a book in hand. Just everywhere with the same book.
So out of curiosity I started borrowing the Potter books and that was when the magic happened. Then I finished watching all the five films which had been out by that time.
Never too late to catch the train right? I watched the last three films in theater! My favorite characters are Harry and Dumbledore...

Re: April 2014 Chit Chat
Just saw a movie that I really enjoyed, quite shocked as its not normally my cup of tea, but since my son is crazy about anything Avengers related, Ive seen all Ironmen Movies, Captain America movies, and Avengers. So tonight he convinced me to watch Thor Dark World - first time in ages I haven't wanted to leave the room in case I missed something and honestly it had nothing whatsoever to do with how goddamn handsome Chris Hemsworth is in this movie!! . Next time I will google his choice of movie as some parts of this movie are way too dark for my 8 year old to be watching and he made too much of a fuss when I put my hands over his eyes lol.

Theminis...watched Thor Bluray too the other evening.

Every time I saw Loki I could see that scene in Avengers when Shrek bashed him about like a

LOL don't despair darling...I'm a perpetual student of human nature and everything that humans get up to...most especially politics in case you hadn't noticed.
You should never stop learning. When you stop being a "student" and learning new things about the world and the people that inhabit it, you might as well be dead!

Yes I too got a tad confused, you need to see all the avenger movies to get the spinoffs like Ironman/Thor otherwise like me you get the characters/place names wrong and that really annoyed my son halfway through the movie. Don't even get me started on Shield which I enjoy but is a total headspin at times. Interesting info - at the end of the credit did you notice that Thor flew back to see Natalie Portman, well Thor (Chris Hemsworths) real wife stood in for Natalie Portman who wasn't available to film the final scene. No wonder the kiss looked passionate, he was kissing his real life wife!

There's no mention of drugs !
Terribly sad for Bob Geldof after all he went through over her mother.
The 25-year-old was found dead at her home in Kent, England, Monday afternoon. Details surrounding the death are unclear. Kent Police tell TMZ, they do not suspect foul play. Investigators are treating the death as "unexplained and sudden."

Changing subject again - I do this all the time with spiders, put a transparent container over them until the Man of the House comes home, the kids spend all day staring at whatever is under the glass occasionally threatening to release it on me! Little buggers.

I considered it when I was diagnosed with breast cancer and my ex was being particularly ass-ish. Seems uncomplicated and with no physical downside, and I like the emphasis on finding the positive life energy. But there are only two practitioners/masters where I live, and they were (a) unexpectedly expensive and (b) not in 'offices' or 'spaces' that I thought fit the spirit of the healing system. So instead I joined a gym and told the ex to fuck all the way off.
