Noah Wyle Arrested in Washington D.C. Protest

Former ER star Noah Wyle has been arrested.

The actor was pictured in handcuffs where he and more than 100 other people were arrested during a protest at Capitol Hill on Monday.

Wylie and members of the group ADAPT were urging Congress not to cut Medicaid. The protesters were handcuffed in the rotunda of the Cannon House Office Building, according to the Associated Press.

ADAPT maintains that cuts in Medicaid would force elderly people and those with disabilities out of their homes and into nursing homes to get services they require.

Wyle is best known for his role as John Carter on NBC's hit medical drama ER. And, it was just about a month ago that another former ER star was arrested in D.C.: George Clooney found himself in the back of a secret service van after a Sudan protest.

what a good cause to protest. Now if every celebrity lets themselves become arrested outside of the capital to make a point, the news could get interesting.
Now this is where George and I would have to agree to disagree. I feel that we should take care of our own country before we take on other countries. But then I know very little about Sudan, so maybe that is what George is ultimately doing.

I agree that it's each country's government's responsibility to look after their own people.
But I believe that those of us who live in wealthy countries have a moral responsibility to care about those people more unfortunate
in other parts of our world.
We are so blessed in that we weren't born into a poor. deprived, dangerous country.
I admire wealthy people like George Clooney for having the social conscience to try to do something to help.
We all personally choose who we want to help in this way and he's chosen the people in Sudan, who are being persecuted and killed by their own government.
He's put himself into discomfort and danger regularly to see for himself the situation by going there and I personally salute
him for that.

I hear what you're saying Joanna. It must be that I drive around LA and see homeless starving people on every street corner. I make burritos out of left overs and pass them out to the homeless when I see them, I take my old clothes to the shelters, etc, but my little efforts are not going to make much of a difference.

When I see celebs helping other countries, in my mind, it's almost like saying, well our country is hopeless, let's try to help someone who still has a chance.
