George Clooney has allegedly been spotted in Wiltshire as filming for a blockbuster film is ongoing. Film crews, along with Universal Studios vehicles have been photographed at Cleveland Lakes in South Cerney.
According to locals from the nearby town of Ashton Keynes, Clooney, who is directing an adaptation of Daniel James Brown's 2013 novel, 'The Boys in the Boat' has been seen having lunch there earlier today (April 25). Excitement is building as production crews are spotted in action for what is believed to be the MGM-Spyglass Media Group-Smoke House Picture's movie based on the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
The story follows nine Americans and their epic quest for gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, in a tale of the triumphant underdog story of the University of Washington men’s rowing team, who stunned the world by winning gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, reports Deadline.com.

The star studded cast includes Chris Diamantopoulos as Royal Brougham, a sports journalist along with Joel Edgerton, Callum Turner, Jack Mulhern, Sam Strike, Luke Slattery, Thomas Elms, Tom Varey, Bruce Herbelin-Earle, Wil Coban, James Wolk, Hadley Robinson and Courtney Henggeler in the Mark L. Smith-adapted feature. Clooney and Grant Heslov are producing for Smoke House, with Spyglass executive producing.

The Casting Collective first released an urgent casting call for Wiltshire locals to feature as extra's in the a new 1930s feature film in February - and casting remains open - find out how to apply HERE. Countless applied and have taken to social media to talk about their pride in taking part.
Twitter user, Katch 75 wrote: "Big day for my wonderful son today, starts filming with [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] on "Boys in the Boat", he's a Rower in it and working alongside some big names. Looks to be a great film based on the 2016 Bestselling book."

'The Boys in the Boat' will be the first production to use Stage Fifty's new Winnersh Film Studios in Berkshire, according to KFTV. And in December 2021, Clooney revealed in an interview with the Daily Mail that he was angling to shoot a feature film in his own backyard, saying: 'The river's there, at the bottom of my garden!' The A-lister actor owns a a £12 million, Grade II listed mansion on its own mansion.
