Just the one dumbest thing? Kind of hard to choose from such a crowded field, isn't it?
George Clooney on the ‘dumbest thing’ about Donald Trump

George Clooney has shared his thoughts on Donald Trump
Not mincing his words whatsoever when it comes to his feelings on Donald Trump, George Clooney has shared his thoughts on what may have been the ‘dumbest thing’ the president has done during his term.
Singling out the leader’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic, which has seen more than 200,000 people die from Covid-19 in the United States, Oceans 11 star Clooney felt Trump had squandered the chance to unite his nation. In an interview with Vanity Fair this week, Clooney said: ‘If Trump had come out early on and said, “Listen, this is bad. It goes through the air” – which we now know he knew in March – “everybody should wear a mask.” If he did it, and everybody did it, there wouldn’t be one single MAGA person in the world saying we shouldn’t wear a mask.’
Clooney went on: ‘They wear seatbelts and they wear helmets on their motorcycles. You can scream, “Freedom!” and smoke until your lungs turn black, but you can’t smoke on the subway, where you f**k somebody else up. You can drink until your liver falls out, but you can’t drive a car while you’re doing it. Your freedoms aren’t allowed to affect everyone else’s freedoms.’
Not stopping there, the actor – who enthused we must keep fighting for what is right and what we believe in, even if we continue to lose – described Trump’s failure to unite being one of his ‘dumbest’ acts.
He said: ‘Usually a good president would go, “Guys, here’s what we gotta do,” and you do it. It’d be easy.
It’s not the first time Clooney has been critical of the current administration
‘The dumbest thing about this guy is that he was given this golden opportunity in the pandemic to come out and go, “All right, this has never happened before, so we’re all going to join together and do this together, and we’re going to pull this off and save the country.”
And the liberals would have had to side with him. Instead, he did the opposite.’ Clooney has long been a critic of Trump, and earlier this year put his money where his feelings were.
The Hollywood actor made a diss in a statement to announce his $500,000 (£383k) donation to the Equal Justice Initiative to celebrate Juneteenth – aka June 19, which is the date which marks the official end of slavery in the USA, when black people in Texas finally learned slavery had been abolished in 1865.
According to Deadline, the Ocean’s Eleven star’s statement read: ‘Thank you President Trump for “making Juneteenth famous.” Much like when Bull Conner made “Civil Rights” famous. ‘My family will be donating 500 thousand dollars to the Equal Justice Initiative in honor of your heroic efforts.’
