George and Amal Clooney had dinner with US Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor at Stephen Starr’s Le Coucou restaurant downtown.
Human-rights lawyer Amal’s previously praised Sotomayor as one of her idols, having worked for her as an NYU law student when Sotomayor was a judge for the US Court of Appeals.
“When I was a junior lawyer, she was incredible to watch in action in court, how she had so many cases in her head and firing questions at these lawyers standing before her,” Amal has said. “I was the most junior and irrelevant person in her chamber and she was very charming and very balanced.”
The trio’s previously gotten together: Page Six reported in 2015 that the Clooneys and Sotomayor dined at Harry Cipriani.
Amal’s on the May cover of Vogue, in which George gushes: “I get to see someone at the absolute top of their game doing their job better than anybody I’ve ever seen.[/size]
