Seeing as George is currently filming yet another commercial, I thought I'd share

I've long lost interest in the (IMO ever increasingly dumber Nespresso ads) but this one seems to be recent.  Found by Ines:

Just for comparison, I think this was one of the first Nespresso ads he did (I'm guess it's around 2005/2006-ish?). The 'porn music' really annoys me on this one.

And here's last year's ad (I think) which introduces John Malkovich into the ad. What the hell were they both thinking? Wasn't this the one directed by Guy Ritchie?



And the longer version for morons. Does anyone else get the impression that they just ad libbed this bit?

Nespresso: beyond the image of George Clooney

It seems unbelievable but the Nespresso brand meets for 25 years. An excellent opportunity to explore some aspects of its successful marketing strategy.

Input, some current data to get an idea of ​​the business that represents the Nespresso brand for the Swiss multinational Nestlé:

The volume of sales of Nespresso capsules (eye, only the capsules - not counting coffee machines manufactured by a few famous brands selected by Nespresso finger) has grown by 20% annually since 2000, reaching 2,500 million euros in 2010.

Nespresso capsule contains 5 to 6 grams of coffee and costs on average € 0.35. So, a kilo to 60 € (yes, SIXTY euros!) Just for reference, a kilo of coffee in the supermarket costs about seven or eight euros.

A windfall, no doubt but that obviously requires a strong brand strategy and product, plus a very personalized (if possible, considering the magnitude of the market) with each of its customers. And this is what really Nespresso trying to achieve with each of their communications and loyalty to the client.

The global growth strategy has had to adapt to the particularities of each local market, without however losing its trademark.

The French market - the second most important brand - is a perfect example:

Nestlé has been challenged to develop a communication strategy in a market not prone to the use of social networks: only 36% of the population participates in a network, very little if compared with Spain (52%) and Italy (59 %).

The solution was to return to the origins backing a call oriented much more information than the sale itself. Nespresso currently maintains 20 customer service centers with over a thousand agents, which are defined as coffee or coffee specialists, rather than call-center agents.

The main function of these specialists is to provide information about the different types and flavors of coffee available under the brand Nespresso. Contrary to what is usual in call-centers, not looking to optimize productivity while minimizing the time of each call and well meet as many incoming calls. Instead, the agent tries to interact with your customer in a natural way, transmitting their knowledge about the product and trying to build a personal relationship with your partner. The calls also serve as a thermometer to check the views and preferences of customers, all fans and connoisseurs of coffee, which in turn have credibility in their respective social environments.

In this way we also make every customer who calls the center of attention, becoming an end brand prescribing and new types of Nespresso coffee regularly launched. According to Nestlé, the success of this strategy is seen in the results: more than half of sales in France are achieved thanks to mouth-to-ear.

Thanks laetval for the pics and video. It's an interesting theme, two suitcases and George gets hers by mistake. Although I must admit he doesn't look too unhappy about the "intimates' he sees in her suitcase. LOL

When I first saw all the long boxes in her suitcase, my mind did NOT go to Nespresso capsules.

I think the pic of Grant holding up the lingerie is priceless. He has the typical male look of confusion on his face, like 'how does this work?', while George looks like it's no big deal, just a normal article of clothing he sees everyday. What am I saying? He probably does.
