Amal Clooney was all about 1960s chic as she was spotted out and about in the SoHo neighbourhood of New York on Thursday.


George Clooney's beautiful Lebanon-born wife appeared to step back in time in a red knitted mini-dress and flowery kinky boots.

Oh yeah, baby: Amal Clooney was all about 1960s chic as she was spotted out and about in the SoHo neighbourhood of New York on Thursday
The 38-year-old human rights lawyer wore her long brunette hair styled in soft waves cascading over her shoulders as she made her way to a car.
The stunning effect would certainly have had actor Michael Myer's hipster not-so-secret agent saying: 'Oh yeah, baby.'
Amal appeared to be on her own as there was no sign of George.
She and the 54-year-old star have been married for 18 months after tying the knot at a palace in Venice in September, 2014.

The couple have since become Hollywood royalty, with Amal dazzling on red carpets around the world. 
Earlier this month, they put on a great show at the Berlin Film Festival where George's comedy, Hail, Caesar! opened the prestigious event.
Amul stole the limelight in a vintage black Yves Saint Laurent tulle and sequin gown from the 1980s, while George looked dapper in a black dress suit with matching black shirt and tie.

The handsome star recently stunned fans by telling the BBC that he intended to step back from acting and pursue his first love, directing.
'As you age on screen you get to that point where you really understand that, you know, you can't stay in front of the camera your whole life,' he said. 
'And so It's much more fun, and it's infinitely more creative, to be directing.'

I wonder if they've bought a place in NYC.....teaching this term and first sighting.......

I always thought George owned the condo at the Carlyle, maybe he sold it and bought somewhere more private.

For those that didn't know the Carlyle has a condominium attached , which is where George stays.

Yep, and that's where the paps all loiter on the corners when they're there.

Non of that this time so far.........that's why I wondered if they were living/staying/had bought somewhere else.............

There was that story when they were here before that they bought an apartment. I don't know where it was though only in Manhattan.

I can't find anything on them buying maybe , if they did it was kept really quiet.

I remember last year there was a tweet posted here about George supposedly buying a condo in their building. Who knows if that was accurate or not but never heard or read anything else about it. But it was posted somewhere here.

If they did buy at one Madison it has incredible views and all the amenities they could want.

Interesting - in that the hairdresser she was at is on W 23rd - but then maybe the law school is too...............

The law school is on 116th street.

I like Amal's dress. That color looks great on her. The boots are cute but I don't like them with that dress.
She looks very natural ... not wearing much makeup.

I just read this morning that she visited Serge Normant's Chelsea salon. Is that the hairdresser you're talking about PAN?

I saw somewhere that the whole outfit, including purse was about $8,000.  Wow, did she get taken or what???!!!!

Nope, designer clothes are expensive it's just how it works they mark things up to the hilt. That is how the fashion industry makes money . Even things that would be considered cheap are marked up .

Amal seems to wear designer clothes pretty exclusively. Seems to me she knows exactly what she's paying for and she's probably pretty savvy about designer clothing in general. Its her personal choice and I doubt she really cares what any of us think about her choices. She dresses for herself.

There seems to be a move away from fast fashion and the conditions that go along with that. I think designer brands and better quality clothing is starting to be looked at as the best way to spend your hard earned money. 

I think honestly if you can afford designer why not wear what makes you happy and brings you pleasure.

Love the color of the dress but those boots are ugly with the dress, and the dress might be a little big around the arm since her bra is showing.

No matter how much it to cost if you look ordinary cheap you can't buy style.You have it or no Amal.

She is usually getting in and out of cars so the cold probably doesn't bother her. I see people with no coats all the time they don't seem to be bothered some are just warmer than others. That looks like it could be her brother .

It's still winter in NYC. Everyone around her is wearing jackets. Does she not get cold? Or is this required to showcase the clothing?
