Clooneys NOT at Clinton London Fundraiser tonight - George in LA

George is in L.A.

I thought if he might be in L.A. since the oscars will be on sunday night, and there will be lots of pre-oscar events. I remember having seen a picture of last year where George and Amal met Steven Spielberg.

Asked if Clooney will be attending the London gala, his longtime publicist, Stan Rosenfield, told TheWrap via email, “Hard to do since he is in L.A. tonight.” Murdoch’s reps told us, “The story is incorrect; he is not attending the fundraiser.” "

That sounds a little "off" to me.  I don't remember a time that Stan has been that specific when denying something.  Unless he WANTS to make sure everyone knows he's in LA.

Maybe Stan just answered the question because that is where George is no need to not say.

George said he is getting ready to direct a movie so I guess he is working on that.

First of all, I'm not at all sure The Wrap would invent a quote from Stan.

Second, if I was a leading actor/director then I would probably be in Hollywood at Oscar time, simply because everybody is there and it's a timely opportunity for meetings etc.........

George could be in LA for any number of reasons. He has a home in LA. He has work in LA. And for what possible reason would George want everyone to know he's in LA?
