Study Reveals 41 Percent of Americans Want Donald Trump Out of the Presidential Race – And More Than Half Want George Clooney In

Despite early predictions, Donald Trump is consistently ranking high in the polls for the 2016 election.

But it seems that an even higher percentage of Americans would like The Donald to drop out of the race entirely.

An online study conducted by Harris Poll on behalf of communications platform Callfire found that among a group of 2,039 U.S. adults of voting age, the largest number – 41 percent – want Trump fired from his own presidential campaign.

Hillary Clinton comes in second, with 25 percent of those polled wanting her to drop out, too. Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz came in third and fourth, with 9 percent and 8 percent, respectively.

These findings do also mean that 59 percent of Americans don't want Trump to drop out of the race (not that this means that they're voting for him, too) – a sizable number in itself.

However, the lackluster opinions about Trump's presidency aren't exactly news (just check Twitter). What is newsworthy about the study is how voters would prefer to see some of Hollywood's most famous vying for the White House over the current selection.

Clint Eastwood, George Clooney, Jimmy Fallon and Ben Affleck all came out on top when compared to a 2016 candidate, including Donald Trump, Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz, and Rand Paul. Eastwood seemed to be the public favorite, with 72% of those polled "voting" for him, and only 28 percent voting for Trump. Clooney was second, with 57% of the "vote" compared to Bush's 43.

When it came down to which celebrity they thought really belonged in the White House (without any comparison) the most popular choices were Morgan Freeman, Jon Stewart, and again, Clint Eastwood.

Not all celebs fared so strongly. When compared with Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey only captured 45 percent of the vote. And when Jerry Seinfeld was pitted against Bernie Sanders, the comedian garnered 46 percent of the vote.

Seems the Governator left a good impression on the public when it comes to celebrities in office.
