Are Tomorrowland and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes not action?

Judy Greer: I don’t have action roles in them, I will say that. But yes, they are action.

What do you get to play in Tomorrowland?

Judy Greer: Tomorrowland I am the mother of Britt Robertson.

Is it you and George Clooney as the dad?

Judy Greer: No, Clooney’s got a different role. Tim McGraw is the dad, he’s my husband.

So do the parents not go on the adventure with the kids?

Judy Greer: No.

What is it like working with Brad Bird?

Judy Greer: Oh, he’s a peach. Considering how big the budget of that movie is and how important it is, he’s super mellow and relaxed which is always, to me, very impressive when you’re working with a director who’s in charge of a lot of money and a lot of people, to just be calm and happy and to say “good morning” every morning.

Well I was about to say Tomorrowland in the first post instead of the Descendants...

Judy Greer has a new series called "Married" coming to tv in the fall. I don't know what network is carrying it, but it seems like her career is becoming more high-profile. Good for her!

It will be on FX and her husband is the guy that helped Alexander Payne with the screenplay for The Descendants.

The response from her celebrity friends, as well, several of whom have contributed enthusiastic blurbs to the book, was likely equally positive. After appearing in over 50 films, Greer is on close terms with many of Hollywood’s biggest stars, including George Clooney and Jennifer Garner, She was recently reunited with both of those actors for Tomorrowland and Men, Women, and Children, respectively. Although Greer and Clooney didn’t have any scenes together (“I never got to see him once, which was like, a super drag”)

What did you think about the concept of Tomorrowland when you signed on for the project?

Greer: I didn’t get a script ever. That is also a giant secret. It’s a really huge exciting honor to be in a movie of that size. I left shooting Dawn of the Planet of the Apes to shoot Tomorrowland so it was two huge movies back to back. It was a little overwhelming.

Can you talk about working with director Brad Bird?

Greer: Brad was so mellow. He was just like, “Hi, this is so fun. This is so cool.” It was so weird. I was like, you’re directing a billion dollar movie and you’re just like, “What’s up. I’m glad you made it and could do it. Let’s see what’s going to happen in this scene.” It was so easy and fun.

Did you get to reunite with your Descendants co-star George Clooney in Tomorrowland?

Greer: No, we were ships in the night. But I’m going to tell you another cool thing and this is no offense to Mr. George Clooney at all but I did get to kiss Tim McGraw in Tomorrowland. So I’m adding him to the kiss list. I have so many on the kiss list. You have no idea. But I’m kind of glad that I don’t get to kiss George again because I’ve already kissed him so now I get to add a new guy.
