Summer Idea: Forum ReWatch of George's Movies?

So I follow a few different pop culture websites, like Vulture and the AV Club, and they have a summer tradition of going back to rewatch old television series or films and having discussions about them.  Since there's often the complaint that we talk about George's ladies more than George, I thought it might be fun to do a rewatch of some of his films over the summer, and have discussion threads here to discuss.  I'm thinking we could do one film per week or every two weeks, depending on what people's schedules are like, and maybe do a poll to determine which films to include.  I'd say we should limit it to films post-Batman, both due to quality and availability.  For those who've already seen most of his films, it can be fun to go back with new eyes, and for those who haven't it made it all the way through some of them (*cough* The Good German *cough*), it might be a good time to try again.

Anyone else on board?

I can't believe you didn't make it through The Good German. His German lines he had in the movie were funny. I would like to ask him how long it took for him until he could pronounce it like an English would do hehehe. I liked the movie. 

I'm not sure if I saw the movie "confessions of a dangerous mind" until the end. Didn't like it much, felt bored. 

I watched the american around two weeks ago   I think I need to watch up in the air again

The Good German frustrates me so much!  The book is amazing, and has like 5 different great movies in it, but then Soderbergh had to get ARTY with it.  ARGH!  I'll save the rest of my comment for if and when we rewatch it.

Yes, I was thinking of a book-club type structure.  I think there should be a film assigned to each week so we're all on the same page.  I'm thinking we could start the discussion threads on a Monday, and people could either watch the film prior to Monday of sometime during that week.  I'm happy to take responsibility for making sure there's a discussion thread posted, so we're all chatting in the same place.  

There are about 11 weeks left in the summer, and I count 25 films since Batman where he has a significant role, leaving out things like "Spy Kids" and "Welcome to Collinwood".  I'm thinking I could set up a poll with all 25, and then the top 11 will make the cut?  Then assigned weekly in random order?  Would that work, or are there other suggestions?  Oh, and I would like to set the schedule of movies ahead of time, in case people need to arrange to rent or borrow the films.

George's films in chronological order simply to observe 
his improvement in his aciting....
or otherwise of course. LOL

I can set up the Poll for you, will do that when I return from picking up kids in about 1.5 hours if that's okay.

So you'd like all of Georges movies since Batman, and then a choice between chronological order or random, have I got that right?

Not sure how we wanted to set up the poll. I have set it up now like this that you can do multiple choices. Maybe we can choose first which movies we want to watch at all and then we do another poll which one we watch first or don't do another poll and see who gets the most votes? Let's see.....feedback is always welcome

Looks great Nicky, thanks! I'm thinking everyone can choose the 11 they'd like to watch, and we'll do the top 11 vote getters, if that makes sense to everyone. How about we give it till Sunday afternoon for everyone to vote, and then I can put together a schedule and we can can have the first discussion post for next Monday June 16th? That will give anyone who needs to rent or borrow the first movie some time to do so.

Yes I liked it. But I must confess at the beginning I thought it was slow but then I started to like it more and more. It was already a while back so I look forward to watch it again. It is in black and white in case somebody has problems with that

Okay, here are the winners and the movie schedule.  I plan to have a discussion thread posted by each date.  We did have a four way tie for 11th place, so we may have to do a re-vote to figure out that one.  I put the films in chronological order, since I think it would be interesting to see his skills change over time.

I wouldn't have minded Oceans 11, but the other two are definitely missable. I think we got a nice mix of old and new.

 That's my fault - I rented it and threw it in a lake in the hopes that no one will be able to get it and we have to take it off the list.
