Walter Kirn on George Clooney Empty Walter Kirn on George Clooney

Post by Katiedot Thu 24 Mar 2011, 20:49

Walter Kirn apparently doesn't believe in paragraphs, so just extracting the Clooney quote from the dense mass of writing. It's an interesting read though and worth visiting his blog.

From walter kirn's blog

The movie Up in the Air was based on my novel of the same name. George Clooney starred. He played me. In person he's smart and charming and extremely sincere about his Sudan work. He could have stolen my girlfriend from me and showed signs that he knew it, but he didn't. I think that shows class. In both of them.

I googled Walter Kirn, to find that he is the author of Up In The Air. Here's an article of his writing style, and just a great article, period. Hope you enjoy:

Sex Appeal of Plain Women – Walter Kirn on Why Pretty Girls Are Single May 1, 2008 ... Walter Kirn, author of Up in the Air, postulates on why “plain” women have an inherent sex appeal – and why the pretty girls are left single ...

He knew it? Makes him sound like another generic Hollywood ass. Well done George.

I believe Walter Kirn appeared in "Up In The Air." He was one of the gentlemen sitting next to Clooney at the table. Very stoney-faced.

Maybe I didn't have enough coffee this morning, but I read that last sentence many times, and I still have no idea what he means. I'm not sure if it's just a poorly written sentence or if it's me.

Casey, I think Watching meant George showed a little too much confidence in himself. You know, lady killer!

Yeah, I couldn't figure out what to do with Walter's statement either. How did George "show" he knew he could take Walter's girlfriend?

Sorry, cindigirl, I was talking about Walter's comment, not Watching's.
