Nestlé Austria: Not even George Clooney can help
Sorry-Google translation:
Vienna - Despite the irresistible Nespresso and George Clooney's efforts Nestle Austria does not come from the red numbers. Although the Swiss parent company allowed to flow in 2012 a significant share of the Nespresso shop to Austria, but the loss in the previous year was not offset by revenue. The Nespresso Austria GmbH as part of Nestle Austria Holding as the Nestle Austria GmbH, Cereal Partners Austria and Schoeller Food GmbH Christian Putner, finance director of Nestle Austria, the cause provides, inter alia the reduction in the export business, which in 2012 increased by 13 percent, is equivalent to a sum of 32.5 million euros, broken. In the export products are primarily catering supplies. The decline in the culinary field was significantly since the second half of 2012.
Quadrupled loss
In 2011, the figures at Nestle Austria showed no soothing black but lit up already at an alarming red The loss amounted to about half a million euros, although the parent company for the stake Nespresso four million euros were paid. The economic crisis in 2012 also reached the exporters of the products manufactured in Linz. The loss quadrupled in the year to 2.5 million euros. The Nespresso shares in the amount of 8.4 million euro did not help in the red zone. By impairment in the amount of 1.62233 million, € 27 in Linz, the deficit increased operating profit to EUR 10.9 million. Price increases within Austria's domestic sales increased by 9 percent. He was thus 129.2 million. However, the domestic sales, which has been achieved primarily through pet food, portioned coffee and chocolate, showed indeed a large drop, but at a too hot stone. Nestle Austria now focusing increasingly on the production of fewer, but more important and more successful products.
Mothercompany writes black numbers
The half-year results of the Swiss parent company showed an increase in sales of 5.3 percent to 36.7 billion euros, less than analysts predicted though at 45.2 billion euros, but in contrast to the self, Austrian subsidiary after all a plus. The reason that the expectations could not be fulfilled, on the one hand in the Asian economic downturn and the other in the cold and rainy spring, was about the sales of ice cream down because. The reported first half 2013 net profit is still over four billion euros, 3.7 percent higher than in the same period of 2012. Nestle is the world's largest food company and the largest industrial companies in Switzerland. Is produced in more than 486 manufacturing facilities in 80 countries. Nestle is the employer of around 330,000 employees

Nestlé?
This old? news is about one country, Austria. Company is solid with profitable growth, so is a stock, can´t separate the two. It currently trades 62.xx CHF (SIX), maybe a good buy below 60 francs. It won´t let you down and will give you dividends.
I believe someone believes Clooney´s deal with Nespresso actually helps.

I am selfish, I don't worru about the stock holders,(which I should it affects many workers) but I care a lot about the deal that they have made concerning the Sudan. They need to get the infrarstructure started before the farmers can much.

Re: Nestlé Austria: Not even George Clooney can help
Well more and more people are aware of humane aspects of trades. Like Sudan deal. But unfortunately at the same time "masses buy what´s cheapest" -axiom applies, even to coffee. Otherwise all the word´s consumer goods production would not have moved to China.
Good overall perspective is the size of the market. Derivatives markets volume is (over 20 times size the word´s gross domestic product) and paper coffee is not an exception. It´s huge, compared to market where actual coffee sacks are traded, unnecessarily large.
Had to take a peak to the coffee futures (ICE). Looks like large pullish call was put up in the Dec.13 futures. Heart skips a beat when you (rarely) see action like that. Means someone really thinks coffee price will go up. If that´s the case, should be a positive thing for Sudan and their coffee demand well after they get the infra...
That´s all what I have to say about this news.
