If I were he, I'd be more concerned about parking the car anywhere since the 24k gold wheels would be gone in a New York second.

Interesting night politically for Australia. Ex PM Kevin Rudd who was unceremoniously outed by Julia Gillard who became our new PM challenged her for leadership of the Australian Labour Party. Their was a vote tonight and Kevin Rudd won so he is the leader again for the time being. Apparently if Julia lost she was going to quit politics altogether. Good grief, we must be international political joke!

Both Hubby and I met with our children's teacher's today to see how they are progressing at the end of Semester 1 (keep in mind they are only 6 and 7 years old). Its called We-share - they kids pick out their favourite work from the last 6 months and put it in a portfolio which they show and present to their parents, reading from a script they wrote detailing all they have learned. At the end the teacher hands you the official report to take home - Im so happy that all the homework we do every night has paid off, they both got A's and B's and mainly A's. Especially proud of my beautiful girl who was moderately deaf and mildly deaf in both ears last year, one ear has now healed and I think that's one of the reasons her reading is getting better, she has a long way to go to reach what the curriculum suggests, but no doubt she will get there.

Well, congratulations to you and your spawn (sorry, but I love that word, even tho it sounds salmon-y. I def don't mean it that way)! It is a proud moment indeed when one's children do well. But why am I not surprised! You are a mother who inspires excellence, inquisitiveness and confidence in her children. You may not think so, but it is evident in your family updates that we enjoy so much. Keep up the good work, theminii family! (theminii is the plural form of theminis, no?)

They do have excellent teachers who pride themselves on getting to know each of their children, that was evident today as it was obvious they knew my childrens strengths and weaknesses very well. I just want both of them to have a love of learning so as much as I push them to practice their reading and writing every day - I try and do it so its fun. One game my daughter loves is when we write all of the 10 words she has to learn that week on big pieces of paper and place them on the floor, we play her favourite songs (sadly One Direction) and when the music stops, she has to run to whatever word I have yelled out - its fun and she doesn't realise she's actually learning.

Good news! No rejection of my kidney. All is ok. I did have some damage from previous rejection episode, but it is minor. All OK.
