On a different note...

I had a thought when I looked at the full series of pictures.

My mom and I used to take walks near our home and as she got older she often would stop to look at flowers in neighbor's yards and comment, "Oh, look how pretty!" or "Isn't that a nice garden?"

It finally dawned on me that the reason she did this was that she was tired but didn't want to admit that she was so she'd make up an excuse of looking at something at the side of the road.

Well, George looked much too involved with that donkey/ass/mule whatever it is but certainly not a horse!

Maybe he was just tired from the ride and needed a rest, noticed the picture taker and decided to "look at the roses" - or in his case - "the ass!" rather than let the world know that he was just was tired!

That makes sense. Judging from the background, he might have just ridden up a hill or incline.

He needs biking shorts. Basketball shorts are cool and breezy, but they don't provide a basket for the twig and berries.

I was thinking the same thing (not about the twigs and berries)....I had a feeling he got tired but didn't want to look silly in front to the photographer just stopping anywhere...the donkeys gave him an excuse to take a breather and made for very cute photos.
