Explosions and Shots at MIT

Decided to make a new thread on this.

At 10:20 p.m. Pacific time Live reports are stating that the police have two suspects in custody.

@BostonScanner commented that there are bombs lying along the roadway.

Homeland Security vehicles were noted at one of the scenes in addition to FBI, Boston Police and various other police agencies.

MIT officer was shot and they've reported he has died at the hospital.

Oh my God, these poor people. What is going on?

So are the gunmen the same people who let off bombs at Boston Marathon or are these another group of new people causing mayhem, does anyone know?

Well theminis I think the events of today answered your question.

I was watching the live stream and had to turn it and my computer off and go to bed. I didn't want to get all riled up last night.

But then I woke up at 3 am my time and the news was talking about having killed one of the suspects and I was up for another hour.

Needless to say, I was tired all day! I can only imagine how difficult it was for the people in Boston who had to deal with no sleep, fearing for their safety and then the door to door search.

So glad it's over for them!

Yeah so glad the fear is over for Boston, thanks to the live feed link you posted Lorna I have been watching it on/off, expected when I woke Sat morn my time to find it over, only to see that the suspect was surrounded in a boat and wasn't coming out. So surreal. I mean what makes a 19 year old with his whole life to look forward to, do such terrible things, as intelligent as I am, cannot understand those type of motivations. Well todays events may start to bring some healing to all those involved, hopefully.

Based on comments from his High School friends, I think his older brother was the influence that got him into all this.

His brother was more the loner - the one who posted that he didn't have any American friends whereas the younger brother was very popular. But like too many young people who really don't get it - life isn't a video game. You can't shoot, kill and maim people and then press the reset button and start again.

I sometimes wonder if some of these young people who play all those violent video games really understand that death is finite.
