Yesterday was a big day for me.

A week ago or so, I registered on a local single forum and found a nice man writing nice messages to me.
He sent me a link to his website, got some pictures of me in return and the following days he was calling me every day.

Unfortunately he was working very much, so we couldn't meet and he even had to cancel our first date because of his work.

When I got his message on my mailbox I was dressed up on my way to the restaurant Sad(

He called me in the evening and apologized very nicely and yesterday we had our date then, finally.

He wanted to pick me up from work at 7pm, but he arrived earlier. which wouldn't have been a problem, if he wouldn't have been sitting there and complaining that he was so hungry while I had the last visitor before I could close the shop.

Before we were out of the door, he needed to let me know that he was so hungry again and suddenly he was suffering from an aching tooth.

Ok.

We arrived at the restaurant of his choice, had our dinner (he ordered the fat bomb with lots of garlic, yummy), than he told me, he had to call his mother. Haha.

He went out with his phone, came in again, passed our table where I was getting bored and went to the restroom with his phone in his hands.

Ok.

After he was back and sat down, I asked him, what we were going to do now and he said he would drive me home, because of his tooth!!!!!

Within an hour he managed the way to the restaurant, dinner and driving me to the bus stop miles away from where I live.

This is efficiency, right?

When I was at home, he called me and said everything would be alright with him, he had a cognac and a pill, good night until tomorrow.

Do I have a new boyfriend now?

He seemed to be under pressure somehow and pretty nervous.

When we were walking to the restaurant, he was stumbling and nearly fell on the ground.
I am very happy that we had no carcrash, I was a little scared because of him being so nervous.

He made me compliments for my looks, so I don't know what has driven him that insane?

Maybe his mother was his wife?

Dior I would avoid him like the plague. First dates are precarious at best. I've been on first dates that were so bad they make your friend look like the second George coming. LOL

I met a guy at a singles dance, he showed me his card which stated he was a Rabbi. When he asked me out I thought why not, a man of God - how can I go wrong? When he picked me up I started suggesting restaurants in the area and he said no he's not going to buy me dinner until I come to his place. I said I don't think so, he said well maybe you're not right for me, I said "you got that right."

First rule of a blind or unknown person date....
ALWAYS meet them at a Public Venue !!!

Take your own car, or taxi, tell a friend where and when you
are going to etc etc etc

You don't want to end up in a dangerous situation which can be avoided by a little planning.

After moving I signed up for a dating site as well and, good God, most of the guys I've talked with seem to either want a mom, wife or f@ckbuddy! I like to have fun, go out and enjoy the company. Talk. Is that unreasonable? Not going to hook up with someone I just met and I really don't want to do their laundry! Got plenty of my own. Hard being single.

Yes Oof....it must be hard.

When I was in between husbands....for 15 years...my attitude was that I had a good job, a good home, a good social life, so a man was going to be a bonus in my life, not a necessity.

Although this is a generalisation, I don't think many "single" men feel that way....at a certain age they just want a replacement wife and
to "be looked after".

I don't envy the single ladies looking for a reliable compatible companion these days. With the Internet dating sites around now I think a lot of men are just looking for a sexual adventure, and how is the lady to know that they are sincere, let alone available ?

Good luck to all ladies who are looking for a sincere companion through life....I hope you are all as successful as I was.....

Since all of my girlfriends are in a relationship, I'm starting to feel a little bit lonely.
And I must admit, I have very much fun on that dating page.

Never give up hope. Also, first appearances can be deceiving, especially if someone's not feeling well and is nervous.

I think every woman has had at least one disaster date in her life.

I agree with Joanna, never give a guy your home address until you're very sure about him and have met him a few times in a public place. Take a "fun" pic of him with your cell phone and then when he goes to the men's room, text it to a friend.

Dating has become a very scary option these dates. Please be safe ladies

That answer is too obvious, how could anyone say Tom Cruise over George - wow I would have won 20,000.

Re dating sites: a friend of mine just spent the last 3 months talking on the phone, internet etc with a man who she thought was perfect in every way. They were due to meet for the first time today. Two nights ago, she went to a party with one of her friends and what do you know, her internet/phone friend was there! Good news yes! Nope he was there with his wife!! His pregnant wife!! I keep telling my friend to not believe everything these dopes tell her, but alas disappointed again. 2 other men ran away when she told them she had 5 children, suggested she maybe shouldn't make that her opening statement!! HA

Well, I had a girlfriend who told any guy she just met that she wanted to marry soon and have children. Then she didn't understand the men were running away from her until I told her not to do so.
But meanwhile I adapted this from her to keep the men away from me, although it doesn't work that good, don't know why.

And on this dating site I actually have the fun of my life.

Many men use those Internet dating sites just for meeting
up for sex....they seem to think that's the only reason women join them....so yes....there will be a lot of married men on there looking for that little bit extra !
And vice versa too...but maybe more men.

There are people from all walks of life in online dating world. No personal experience but what I´ve heard after you put aside all the perverts, married men, freaks, mentally ill, fat and ugly, poor and unemployed and criminals, not only bunch women are wondering where they disappeared but they are wanted by Interpol also.

Don´t get your hopes too high but it´s possible to actually and finally find the regular John Smith there, I think. Who wants to get to know a woman gradually, to see if she is on a same page with him, without being invested in her. He can write same things to, let´s say, 20-30 women and compare the answers. After you meet and fell in love, don´t be surprised if he continues checking his account for new replies though….

Women with kids. I´d say if you are seriously interested it is better to put everything out at once. To see his reaction face to face. If he has an attitude it is very unlikely that you are going to change it. Some men can´t tolerate the kids. But there are men who find you more appealing because of it.

If you are looking for just someone to talk with, share a glass of wine, dinner or something, like a new guy friend. That might be too much to ask. I use ex-boyfriend for it. Very convenient. We have done this so long that I just cook and he comes over. No sexual tension, stress of getting dressed or anything… I can be in my pajamas for all he cares. Of course he could eat at home with his wife…

I singled out this one as in my house, definitely the way it goes, after 16 years my husband has still not learned to keep his mouth shut and pretend that I won the argument!

So true, its a wonder I can remember my own name at times, in between trying to not forget homework due dates, library due dates, after schools sports, swimming days at school, the 2 different uniforms and what days they wear them on. Literally yesterday my son is sitting there in his school sports uniform and my husband asked him "did you have sports today" son aged 7 answered "Im not wearing this for fun and rolled his eyes"!

Going through a rough patch the past month. Normally I'm the healthiest person around. Never get sick. Healthy as a horse. Seems like I've saved up...when it rains it pours as they say. Anyway, you ladies always make me laugh, and I thank you for being some of my Vitamin Fs.

I've been sick for the past month too with some kind of a stomach ailment, when I eat something I get bad stomach pains. Can't afford to lose any more weight but don't know what to do.

This has not been a good season for health. I totally get the stomach issues everyone is having--although I think mine is more anxiety.

It is good to laugh. I hope you all feel better soon.

Cindi can you eat rice? That might help with some bulk.

Hi all, not knowing particulars of what stomach ailments people are having, but I always eat heaps of yoghurt, bananas, potato, rice and have a sip of pure lemon juice, seems to settle my tummy, but I also prone to stomach probs when anxious about things too and alas only dealing with anxiety helps my tum feel better. One of my kids brought home a gastro bug last month, and although yoghurt is a diary which you are supposed to avoid for first 12 hrs of bug, I had a good dose of it throughout the day and felt amazingly better within 2 days (sometimes it works). xx

Cindi, I posted a comment about our similar circumstances with stomach issues but it didn't make it onto the thread...anyway, I feel your pain! Have spent the past month on the toilet basically. Can't leave the house much because I need to be near a bathroom and it's so embarrassing.

Unlike you, I've got some extra weight so I can afford to lose what I have so far but it just seems never ending. I'm having a colonoscopy on Monday after surviving a 2 week round of taking 2 of the worst antibiotics I've ever been on. Ended up covered in hives. Anyway, hopefully will know what the problem is on Monday.

As far as food and trying to stop the you know what--I found this stuff called Florastor online. It's a probiotic and it tells you to take on in the morning and one at night. I take two in the morning and two at night and it has helped me. You should try it. I found yogurt and dairy have not been good for me with this. Was living on rice and broth and bananas but have been fasting since yesterday. Goal is to give my stomach a rest--only drinking broth and tea. Think then maybe I won't have to drink as much of the stuff they give you for a colonoscopy as I won't have as much in me!

Anyway, try Florastor. It's helped me a bit.

Yeah I know Party. I've had more colonoscopies than I can count sadly. I just hate that stuff. And, my stomach's so bad lately, I decided rather than start on the clear liquids on Sunday, I'd start Thursday and maybe by Sunday not have much in there so I won't have to drink all of it. Wishful thinking...

Really don't know how the Stacy's of the world do all those liquid cleanses all the time. I've been "cleansing" non stop for a month and now doing the clear liquids for the past two days, I'd love some real food. FOOD!!!!!

I have been sooking like a baby all morning - because of my 6 year old daughter.
background - I told her off last week and she told me she wasn't my friend anymore - I said to her, that's fine Im not your friend, Im your Mummy and you will do what I say, because I said so!!!!

Anyhow this morning her teacher tells me that she is singing at school assembly next week and asked the teacher if she was allowed to choose the song Count on Me by Bruno Mars - She said "my Mummy who said she is not my friend, does everything for me that the man sings about, so she must be my bestest friend in the world and my Mummy too". She is singing it along with her classmates as part of the end of term school production. There is no way I'll be able to watch this through tears but will try...

Sillygirl - then its good to know there are more sentimental people out there - I feel a bit silly at times, wear my heart on my sleeve -

Im remembering all the lovely sweet things she does now for when she's a teenager and slams the door in my face and tells me Im the worst Mom in the world!

Thanks Ladies, imagine this - my little girl is always guaranteed to be the one child in her class who is not walking in line behind the others - she will be the one singing at the top of her lungs and pulling off some wicked dance moves at the same time, that pretty much sums up her personality - definitely more like her Daddy and marches to the beat of her own drum and I so love that!.

Yesterday I heard her before I saw her as she was skipping along singing Pink's Blow me one last kiss - time to change the music on my IPOD I think? Her older brother who is 7, literally said to me, lets leave her here! too funny.

cindigirl, hope you're feeling better and in keeping with your man vs. woman funny comparison, I'm posting this. Haven't been on the chit chat threads in a long time, so if this has already been posted, sorry....

Differences Between Man and Women in a Shower

How To Shower Like a Woman:

Take off clothing and place it in sectioned laundry hamper according to lights and darks.

Walk to bathroom wearing long dressing gown.

If you see husband along the way, cover up any exposed areas.

Look at your womanly physique in the mirror - make mental note to do more sit-ups/leg-lifts,etc. Get in the shower.

Use face cloth, arm cloth, leg cloth, long loofah,wide loofah and pumicestone.

Wash your hair once with cucumber and sage shampoo with 43 added vitamins.

Wash your hair again to make sure it's clean.

Condition your hair with grapefruit mint conditioner enhanced.

Wash your face with crushed apricot facial scrub for 10 minutes until red.

Wash entire rest of body with ginger nut and jaffa cake body wash.

Rinse conditioner off hair.

Shave armpits and legs. Turn off shower.

Squeegee off all wet surfaces in shower.

Spray mold spots with Tilex.

Get out of shower.

Dry with towel the size of a small country.

Wrap hair in super absorbent towel.

Return to bedroom wearing long dressing gown and towel on head.

If you see husband along the way, cover up any exposed areas.



How To Shower Like a Man:

Take off clothes while sitting on the edge of the bed and leave them in a pile.

Walk naked to the bathroom.

If you see wife along the way, shake wiener at her making the 'woo-woo' sound.

Look at your manly physique in the mirror.

Admire the size of your wiener and scratch your butt.

Get in the shower.

Wash your face.

Wash your armpits.

Blow your nose in your hands and let the water rinse them off.

Fart and laugh at how loud it sounds in the shower.

Spend majority of time washing privates and surrounding area.

Wash your butt, leaving those coarse butt hairs stuck on the soap.

Wash your hair. Make a Shampoo Mohawk.

Pee.

Rinse off and get out of shower.

Partially dry off.

Fail to notice water on floor because curtain was hanging out of tub the whole time.

Admire wiener size in mirror again.

Leave shower curtain open, wet mat on floor, light and fan on.

Return to bedroom with towel around waist.

If you pass wife, pull off towel, shake wiener at her and make the 'woo-woo' sound again.

Throw wet towel on bed.

If there is anyone among you who did not laugh at the truth behind this, there is something so very wrong with you.

Lakin - that was so funny and yep true in too many ways -

Would like to add one thing that hubby does that infuriates me no end -

In between admiring his weiner!, proceed to shave and leave all the bristles all over the formerly clean bathroom sink and any nearby toothbrushes - aaaagh (he hasn't done that since I turned the hot water on and he ended up having a very cold shower)

ps. re my little munchkins - my 3 year old has now named his new stuffed leopard that he takes to bed - Testicles - no kidding - when his older brother gets up for school in the morning he's in big trouble!

Mind you my 7 year old thinks his testicles are another name for his belly button - have to ask who is educating this child? LOL

Re the Burj Khalifa....a man is permanently employed to fly a Hawk around the towers to keep the birds away.... so that the glass doesn't get "Very Vera'd" all over it. Lol

BTW....Some great shots of Tom Cruise walking all over
the Berj in MI 4 film !
