What If ......?
Was just lying in bed this morning thinking about COH and all the different threads, and I thought to myself ....
What if George met the woman of our dreams. You know what I mean, don't you? A quiet, serene beauty (not a stunner), intelligent and articulate, pleasant, sweet, an elegantly stylish dresser. A woman without a "hidden" agenda, with an excellent career of her own outside the industry. She isn't overtly "sexy", she's got a great figure, isn't as tall or taller than George, isn't clingy or possessive. She's not interested in "red carpet" walking, is happy to be second to "THE BOYS", is gracious and friendly to all his friends. She's a great cook.
She doesn't parade around in a "floss" thong bikini, doesn't display her body for the world to see, isn't a prude though because you just know she's saving it all for George. And then, WHAT IF she turned out to be the ONE. The one who will change his mind, the one who he would settle down with.
Sounds great, huh? Well, what if this ideal woman was in her mid 20's?
Would she pass muster with you girls?

Sounds very romantic patty but I don't think a woman who is 25 years old would be content to be with a man twice her age. Even if he is George. Look at what happened to Hefner. Just my opinion.

yep
very romantic patty
but minds
are different
at such different age
experience

about life
can represent a big gap
wounds
I guess
would be really different
bodies too
both
female
and male are
very often
really aware of their bodies
contiguous ages are important

To answer the question, I would say yes. I feel like experience is more important than age, and if someone in their 20s has her life together like that, good for her. I really and truly don't get as hung up on his girls' ages as I do on their, shall we say, "life choices".

Re: What If ......?
It would bother me. I know it shouldn't but it does. I think it's because no 25 year old could possibly have the life experience that George does at over 50 so it would be unequal and unbalanced.

Re: What If ......?
I hate to say this, but most of the younger generation is too damn self centered to be gracious about anything.
And as much as I'd like to see George with a gal with the qualities you mentioned, I don't think a gal with those qualities exists in her 20's cause there is too much life experience that she just hasn't lived yet to be that self assured. Maybe some, but not all.
But hey, if someone finds one - by all means - find a way to introduce her to George. It would be a welcome relief and perhaps a breath of fresh air to Google her name and NOT find her crotch staring out at me from the internet. Just sayin...

I agree with you LornaD. But if she would exist, she would probably detest seeing her name linked with his poorer choices.IMO

Re: What If ......?
I know I have mentioned the age gap a bit, but that's not really it, only that George's romances seem to follow the typical age old stereotype. I think his girlfriends incessant love of fame and celebrity is what annoys me not their age. Generally younger women are more enthralled with celebrity, which is why I would think it unlikely he would find a younger woman with those qualities. Plus I don't think he is looking for that type of woman either.
It just seems the girlfriends are using him for the fame, and it doesn't appear genuine. I am not one who thinks poor George just being used by all these women. I know he is orchestrating it, and is comfortable with the whole situation. Still I think I would prefer if he just wouldn't sell it so hard to the public.

Re: What If ......?
Again, I'll say What if? What if this "woman" did exist? After all, not every young woman is enthralled with celebrity, or in love with fame. Ha, there are many "older" women in the middle of their lives, who better fit that description. Of course, I agree he isn't looking for that type of woman, but that doesn't mean he couldn't meet her, become intrigued by her, charmed by her, enthralled with her. She is a woman who, is accomplished, self-assured, intelligent, and mature. She does not throw her sexuality around but wears it well. She does not pressure, cajole, tease, tempt. She just is a serene, beautiful woman inside and out. Not a stunning beauty, not someone who "stands out" in any situation. She is the background person who is always there, but never really noticed. Paps wouldn't consider her important, so she could travel with him and not cause gossip to abound. She could be with him anytime and no one would think of her as His latest floosey. Her name would never be linked with his exes as she doesn't behave as they do. If they went to Cabo, she'd only be seen in a "modest" one piece, never displaying her assets. I think George would be enchanted to find a woman with ample assets who hasn't displayed them for the world to see, enchanted with the knowledge that those assets were only for his enjoyment and no one elses.
Remember, all this was again WHAT IF and the question was would she pass your muster. It wasn't meant as a debate on all the infamous qualities of his past and present girlfriends. It was more a debate on would she meet your criteria for George's woman, the one that would "settle him down" once and for all.

Re: What If ......?
Yes, it's me, it is a really big love matter.
I feel George has the capacity to love the "right" woman deeply and in this "what if" I'm giving him what I think is the "right" woman, with all the right scenarios. In my "what if" George does fall deeply and truly in love and reaches the peak and depth of his love and "settles down". It stands to reason, IMVHO, that this woman who is the paragon we wish for him, loves him as deeply and truly as he loves her. They achieve the intense magic that True Love alone can bring.
Again, my question, Would he pass your muster? (Your = all the ladies of COH).

Ok Pattygirl, IMO, just as unrealistic as this woman sounds, if this "dream relationship" would happen exactly the way you described it, I would vote for it.

Re: What If ......?
If a woman could look past his fame and money and love him for who he is I would applaud her because that could mean happiness and contentment for him which he sorely deserves. He's probably enjoying all the hoopla now with his arm candies but I'm pretty sure he'll get tired of it after awhile. But being in the business he in, I sincerely don't think a woman like that can exists for him in show business. Unless he goes to the hills of Kentucky to find a nice girl instead of the flashy beauties he goes after. IMO

Re: What If ......?
Cindigirl in the first post Pattygirl said that she would have:
"an excellent career of her own outside the industry", so it is not the issue. You are right, it looks like " the hills of Kentucky" is the place to look for her. LOL

Re: What If ......?
I could look past the age, bcause if she has all those qualities (except for the age PattyGirl, you're describing me!! hahaha) she could carry herself and not look like his daughter or granddaughter. IF George is really looking for and wants a real relationship to last the rest of his life, this is who I hope he would find. I'm just not sure that is what he wants. None of us know, as we have just read his interviews or have heard him speak the words. He acts like he is content with the way his life is, and as we all have spoken on several threads, maybe that's the way it is. Not everyone has to "have" someone in their life, get married and have babies to be content. Very insightful of you PattyGirl!!!

Re: What If ......?
IMO he must be very content with his life the way it is. If that wouldn't be a case Stacy wouldn't be in the picture today.
Otherwise, who or what would stop him from changing it ??.
And you Mel would be by his side, because PattyGirl knows that all of us will approve of his choice.

Re: What If ......?
pattygirl - your what if question is unrealistic. I have NEVER met a 20 something that possessed those types of qualities so the answer is that IMO it would be impossible for a woman of that age to have those qualities in the first place. That IS an answer to your question.
The fact is pattygirl that life experience would be the reason for a woman to have ALL of the qualities you've mentioned and there is no way a 20 something has lived enough to have those qualities.
You know how people say of their 20's, "If I knew then what I know now (and had my 20 year old body) I'd be dangerous?" That's what I'm talking about.
So to simply answer your question - I would say no - I would not find her acceptable because she just doesn't exist.
