Vilebrequin swimwear - George mention

Post by Katiedot on Tue Jul 26 2011, 14:03

Dare I even post this after all those 'package' and 'dressing' comments? Hm, I dare

Men's swimwear brand Vilebrequin is put on the shelf

Luxury men’s swimwear brand Vilebrequin has been put up for sale. It is thought an investment bank will soon be appointed to seek out a buyer.

The brand, which sells fun, quirky patterned swimming trunks with £100 price tags,is expected to attract numerous bidders. Morgan Stanley has already been identified as a front runner for the sale.

Hollywood stars are partial to the brand, with Jack Nicholson, George Clooney, Michael Douglas and Prince William all recently spotted wearing a pair.

The brand was bought by Dutch private equity house, Fashion Fund One, in 2007.

The Vilebrequin brand – the French word for ‘crankshaft’, part of an automobile’s engine – began in Saint-Tropez in 1971. Early designs featured fast-drying fabric, which was innovative at the time.

The reasons for the sale were not revealed, the firm has, however, recently announced the purchase of a new store in Covent Garden, London, as part of its expansion plans.

President and CFO of Vilebrequin, Agnes Sarah Espinasse, commented: “The acquisition of our new store in London’s Convent Garden further strengthens our position in the UK market and globally.”

Don't think I've ever seen a pic of George wearing them, have you?

Wouldn't know what brand he wore, just enjoyed looking at him. Just wished he'd ditch the teeshirt when wearing trunks.

I agree Patty, why does he not bare his chest, and a mighty fine chest it is too!! He tans well, so why have "tide" marks? Is he shy of his body, in which case, why bare your bits so millions of people can see them on a very large screen, and put them on hold to admire his form??!!!!! Do you think he has a private solarium or uses creams?? But I do agree with the shorts thing. Why else would we be here just waiting for an oops moment of his nethers!! Censored

Well, fluffy, can't really picture that ever happening to George (although I would love to see it). I think he's too careful and would make sure that his drawstring was tied just right. I would imagine he uses something, at least sunscreen - would love to be the one to apply it for him. Might take me a while!

I thought George wore Nike? Unless he wears them in The Decsendants as it seems to be all prints which is the standard Hawaiian ware.

It's interesting how women's bikinies are so teeny tiny and men's swimwear almost reaches down to their knees. Not fair!

Hi MM - welcome to the forum. Let's face it, George looks good in whatever he wearing (or not wearing). LOL

BTW if you're in Cincinnati, did you get to see George during "Ides" when he was in Cinci. area?

He lost his blue Nike shorts to Eli. Remember when she was walking Piero and had the goofy hoody on and what we assumed were George's blue shorts cuz' they were WAY too big on her?

I saw George on Hamilton Avenue when they were filming the opening shots of the IOM film. He was wearing sunglasses, a baseball cap, and a heavy wool coat, along with his ever-present jeans.

MM does he appear smaller in person? Just curious cause so many have said they are surprised when seeing him in the flesh/real-time how much smaller he seems than on film.

Don't they always say the camera puts on at least 10 pounds? Maybe that's why he stays so thin, so he can look better before the camera?

People who were interviewed by the local news said that George is thinner in person, but on that day, he was too bundled up for me to take good access to his physique. A week later, it warmed up, so I could see George on TV directing a scene (he was wearing jeans and a sweatshirt), and he did look thinner.

Sorry, no photos. Mad
